Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a edge network exposure function service is provided. An edge network exposure function device may provide the edge network exposure function service. The edge network exposure function service may communicate with a radio access network, a mobile edge computing network, and a main edge network exposure function device to provide radio access network, end device, and control information. The edge network exposure function device may also facilitate handovers of an end device between mobile edge computing networks. The edge network exposure function device may be situated at the network edge and the main network exposure function device may be situated in a core network.

Abstract: A system may receive a request to perform a firmware update on an Internet of Things (IoT) device and determine whether the IoT device is capable of switching from a first mode to a second mode. The IoT device sends and receives data via first channels when the IoT device is operating in the first mode and the IoT device sends and receives data via second channels when the IoT device is operating in the second mode. The system instructs the IoT device to switch to the second mode in response to determining that the IoT device is capable of switching to the second mode and sends the firmware update to the IoT device while the IoT device is in the second mode. The system determines that the firmware update has been completed and instructs the IoT device to switch from the second mode to the first mode when the firmware update has been completed.

Abstract: A device may broadcast content (e.g., using Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS), evolved MBMS (eMBMS), or Cell Broadcast Service (CBS)); determine that a user device has received the content; determine analytics information regarding the user device; identify, based on the analytics information, personalized content for the user device; and output, to the user device, the personalized content. The user device may receive the broadcasted content; present the broadcasted content; output an indication that the broadcasted content is being presented; receive the personalized content that was generated based on the outputted indication; and present the personalized content in conjunction with the broadcasted content. The user device may further receive content that has been personalized for other user devices, and a network layer of the user device may discard the content personalized for other user devices before an application layer of the user device receives the content personalized for the user device.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide reliable voice connections and highest possible data rates in New Radio dual-connectivity environments, given limitations of available spectrum. A system includes a first wireless station and a second wireless station. The first wireless station provides a shared spectrum of a first frequency band, the shared spectrum including a first spectrum for a first cellular wireless standard and a second spectrum for a second cellular wireless standard. The second wireless station is at least partially within a coverage area of the first wireless station and provides a third spectrum for the second cellular wireless standard. The third spectrum is a millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum. The first wireless station broadcasts cell parameters barring an end device in an idle mode from camping on the second spectrum. The first wireless station or the second wireless station triggers the end device to swap to the second spectrum when a paging request for a voice call is received.

The one or more device identifiers may be provided in association with a non-access stratum message.

Abstract: A mobility management entity device (MME) may receive a request from a user device to attach to a network. The request to attach to the network may include a user device identifier for the user device. The MME may receive, from a home subscriber server (HSS) and based on the user device identifier for the user device, information relating to the user device. The information may include at least one connection parameter. The at least one connection parameter may include at least information indicating whether a bearer should be allocated to the user device. The MME may establish a network connection for the user device based on the at least one connection parameter. The MME may cause traffic to be routed from the user device based on the at least one connection parameter.

Abstract: A method includes receiving, at a network control component, an enhanced subscriber profile identifier (E-SPID) associated with at least one machine type communications (MTC) user device from a home subscriber server (HSS). The method includes determining whether the E-SPID is in a first range of E-SPID values, wherein the first range of E-SPID values corresponds to a delay that exceeds a threshold, and interacting with a self-organizing network (SON) controller that interacts an operation administration maintenance (OAM) component to control and define a modified E-SPID based on network traffic and coverage in response to a determination that the E-SPID is in the first range of E-SPID values. The method further includes sending the modified E-SPID to at least one enhanced evolved node b (eNodeB) associated with the at least one MTC user device, wherein the at least one enhanced eNodeB is operable to perform access control and scheduling for the at least one MTC user device based on the E-SPID.
