Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a edge network exposure function service is provided. An edge network exposure function device may provide the edge network exposure function service. The edge network exposure function service may communicate with a radio access network, a mobile edge computing network, and a main edge network exposure function device to provide radio access network, end device, and control information. The edge network exposure function device may also facilitate handovers of an end device between mobile edge computing networks. The edge network exposure function device may be situated at the network edge and the main network exposure function device may be situated in a core network.

Abstract: A system may receive a request to perform a firmware update on an Internet of Things (IoT) device and determine whether the IoT device is capable of switching from a first mode to a second mode. The IoT device sends and receives data via first channels when the IoT device is operating in the first mode and the IoT device sends and receives data via second channels when the IoT device is operating in the second mode. The system instructs the IoT device to switch to the second mode in response to determining that the IoT device is capable of switching to the second mode and sends the firmware update to the IoT device while the IoT device is in the second mode. The system determines that the firmware update has been completed and instructs the IoT device to switch from the second mode to the first mode when the firmware update has been completed.

Abstract: A system may receive a request from the UE device to establish a session overser plane of a network; establish a session over the user plane in response to the request from the UE device; receive, at a first node, uplink IP data from the UE device over the session; redirect the received IP data at the first node to a second node for translating IP data to a T8 message; translate, at the second node, the redirected IP data to a first T8 message; and forward the first T8 message to an application server or an application function (AF) node.

Abstract: Devices, methods, and storage media provide for receiving, from user equipment (UE), a request for service data of select service data stored via a wireless service in a wireless network, the request including a user identifier (ID) associated with the UE; determining, based on the user ID, whether the request is received within a migration period that is set for migrating the select service data from a first application server to a second application server in the wireless network; determining, when within the migration period, whether the requested service data has previously been migrated to the second application server; identifying, when not previously migrated, a location of the requested service data in the first application server; retrieving the requested service data; deleting the requested service data; migrating the requested service data to the second application server; and providing access to the UE to the requested service data.

Abstract: A mobility management node in a wireless network receives message data from an Internet of Things (IoT) device. The mobility management node obtains a non-Internet Protocol (IP) Access Point Name (APN) associated with the message data, and extracts Class of Service (CoS) and/or Quality of Service (QoS) indicators embedded in the non-IP APN. The mobility management node queues and prioritizes the message data, among other message data, based on the extracted CoS and QoS indicators. The mobility management node dequeues and forwards the message data, among the other message data, from the mobility management node to a Service Capability Exposure Function (SCEF) node based on the extracted CoS and QoS indicators.

Abstract: A device may receive a message en route to a recipient device. The device may provide the message to a first interworking function device associated with the recipient device. The device may determine that the first interworking function device is unavailable to route the message to the recipient device. The device may identify a second interworking function device that is capable of routing the message to the recipient device based on determining that the first interworking function device is unavailable to route the message to the recipient device. The first interworking function device and the second interworking function device may act as gateways between a circuit-switched network and a packet-switched network. The device may provide the message to the second interworking function device for routing to the recipient device.

Abstract: A computing device may include a memory configured to store instructions and a processor configured to execute the instructions to receive a request to generate a device group for a group of user equipment (UE) devices from an application server and identify a group of Home Subscriber Server (HSS) devices that store subscriber profiles for the group of UE devices. The processor may be further configured to send a request to a provisioning system to generate HSS subgroups in the group of HSS devices, with different HSS subgroups associated with different HSS devices and each HSS subgroup including at least one of the UE devices; receive, from the provisioning system, an indication that the HSS subgroups were generated; generate a mapping from the device group to the HSS subgroups; and process messages received from the application server for the device group based on the generated mapping.

Abstract: An improved method and system of optimizing handling and sending of reachability notifications for a UE is disclosed. Solutions and implementations disclosed provide an efficient mechanism for determining the timing and duration of reachability periods for a UE and as a result predicting future reachability periods. This enables sending of one notification with sufficient information to inform the network of the time periods during which the UE is reachable instead of sending a notification each time the device becomes reachable.

Abstract: A base station may include logic configured to determine system throughput values for a plurality of modulation and coding schemes based on data throughput values and based on a number of user equipment (UE) devices serviced by the base station; determine a modulation and coding scheme, of the plurality of coding schemes, that is associated with a highest system throughput; and determine radio frequency (RF) conditions associated with the base station. The logic may further be configured to define a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) area based on the determined RF conditions and the selected modulation and coding scheme and provide an update to the UE devices serviced by the base station, wherein UE devices located within the defined MBMS area are sent the update using MBMS and UE devices located outside the defined MBMS area are sent the update using unicast.

Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are provided to store traffic management data that indicates different levels of congestion that are each correlated to a different category of application of an end device, a type of congestion mechanism including at least one of access class barring, enhanced access class barring, service specific access control, application specific congestion control for data communication, or unattended and background data traffic, and barring parameters; receive a request for wireless service; obtain a level of congestion; determine that the request cannot be granted based on the level of congestion; select one of the levels of congestion based on the level of congestion; generate a first barring message based on the type of congestion mechanism, barring parameters, and category of application correlated to the one of the levels of congestion; and transmit the first barring message to the end devices.
