摘要: A method receives, at a processor of a printing apparatus, a variable information print job. The variable information print job is processed into upper planes of the record-specific objects, upper planes of the reusable objects, lower planes of the record-specific objects, and lower planes of the reusable objects. The method stores such objects within a storage medium of the printing apparatus. The method combines ones of the compressed upper planes of the record-specific objects and the compressed upper planes of the reusable objects corresponding to the record of the variable information print job using the processor to create a single compressed upper plane for the record within an output buffer of the printing apparatus and creates an ordered list (corresponding to the record) of lower plane tiles by assembling the compressed lower planes of the record-specific objects and the compressed lower plane reusable objects. The method performs a printing operation for the record of the variable information print job by decompressing multiple ones of the lower plane tiles in a predetermined order to form a lower plane of the record into an output raster page, decompressing the single compressed upper plane of the record into the output raster page, and outputting the output raster page to a printing engine of the printing apparatus to print the record of the variable information print job on print media.

摘要: A color electrophotographic printer (100) having a vertical photoreceptor belt (111) and a horizontal transfer belt (120) at the top of the printer. The result is a "T-shape" belt-to-belt toner transfer configuration with a top-side paper path. Color developer cartridges (117) are vertically stacked along one side of the photoreceptor belt (111) and an oversized black developer cartridge (116) is placed on the other side.

摘要: A digital accelerometer manufactured from arrays 11a-11e of micro-mechanical sensing elements 12. The sensing elements 12 of different arrays 11a-11e are designed for detecting acceleration in a particular rotational or translational direction, such that their response to acceleration in other directions is minimized. Further, the sensing elements 12 have size and proof mass parameters that may be adjusted to vary their frequency response and sensitivity to amplitude of acceleration. Arrays 11a-11e of sensing elements 12 provide detection of a range of frequency levels and amplitudes at each frequency. At an appropriate frequency and amplitude of an applied acceleration, a sensing element 12 moves to contact an electrode 126, producing an electrical signal, which may be stored as a data bit. The sensing elements, when used in combination with memory 15 and processing devices 16, results in an intelligent accelerometer whose fabrication techniques are compatible with those used for the digital processing devices.

摘要: A semiconductor device comprises a plurality of groups of colored mirrors controllable by electronic circuitry. Each group of colored mirrors absorb or reflect specified wavelengths of visible light. The electronic signals control the pathways on which each individual mirror reflect incident light. A first process for manufacturing such a color deformable mirror device ("DMD") includes aligning a dye-bearing substrate over the deformable mirror device and causing specified portions of the dye to sublimate off of the substrate and condense onto particular mirror elements of the deformable mirror device. A second process for producing a colored deformable mirror device places an electro static charge in a dye cloud and introduces the charged cloud to the DMD. The dye migrates to those selected mirrors containing an opposite electrical charge.

摘要: There is disclosed an optic system for illuminating a DMD array in a manner for efficient light transfer to an imaging lens. The DMD is positioned between the light source and the lens aperture. An anamorphic optic path is arranged such that the vertical component of the light is compressed to match the physical shape of the DMD array. In this manner the horizontal light component is focused directly on the aperture while the vertical light component is focused optically ahead of the aperture. Together the two light components entirely fill the lens aperture while providing more light intensity at the DMD.
