摘要: A module and an arrangement for, as well as a method of, generating a generally uniform distributed line pattern of light on a symbol to be read by image capture employs a light source for generating light along an optical axis in a distribution having different extents along intersecting directions generally perpendicular to the axis, a linear lens array having a plurality of compound curvature lenses spaced apart from one another along one of said directions, for receiving the light from the light source, and for optically modifying the light from the light source to generate the generally uniform distributed line pattern of light on the symbol, each lens having a concave curvature for diverging the light along said one direction, and a convex curvature for collimating the light along the other of said directions, and a solid-state imager having an array of image sensors for capturing return light from the symbol over a field of view having different extents along the intersecting directions.

摘要: A method and apparatus for improving the image quality obtained by an imaging-based scanner comprising a housing supporting one or more protective windows. The apparatus further comprises at least one scanning arrangement, the scanning arrangement comprising illumination and imaging optics. The illumination and imaging optics form a respective field of view for imaging a target object. A light baffle is attached to the scanning arrangement. The light baffle has an aperture corresponding to each of the illumination and imaging optics such that stray light reflected from the protective windows is absorbed by the light baffle, improving the image quality of the imaging-based scanner.

摘要: A target distance to a system target located at variable distances from an imaging system is determined by illuminating a calibration target at a calibration distance with a collimated light beam during a calibration mode of operation, by illuminating the system target at the variable target distance with the collimated light beam during an imaging mode of operation, by configuring the collimated light beam with a beam spot of a generally constant size during both modes of operation, by capturing return light of a calibration image size from the calibration target during the calibration mode, by capturing return light of a target image size from the system target during the imaging mode, and by determining the variable target distance based on the calibration distance, the calibration image size, and the target image size.

摘要: A method and imaging assembly (10) are disclosed adapted for reading a target object comprising a scan engine (48) having a sensor (46), focusing optics (44), and an imager (48). The scan engine includes a field-of-view defining an area to be imaged by the imaging assembly (10). A housing (80) internally lodges the scan engine (48) and an illumination source (36). The illumination source (36) is adapted to project illumination from the housing (80). A boot (30) extends from the housing (80) for shaping the illumination as it passes through the boot to form an illumination pattern from the illumination. The illumination pattern substantially conforms to a geometrical shape of the boot (30) and is adapted to envelope the scan engine field-of-view.

摘要: Laser power monitoring arrangements interrupt power to a laser used in electro-optical readers upon detection of operating conditions not conforming to preestablished standards. An auxiliary light detector independently monitors the output power of a laser beam, and directly receives a portion of the laser beam reflected from an optical assembly operative for optically modifying the laser beam.

摘要: A method for controlling chemical dry etching to improve smoothness of an etched surface is disclosed. Ions are implanted into a surface to form a volatilizable compound at a temperature low enough to avoid, reduce, or eliminate formation of three-dimensional structures of the volatilizable compound that might create the roughness at an etched surface of the volatilizable compound. The ions are applied in a sufficient energy to penetrate to a predetermined depth of material that is to be removed from the surface in an etching cycle, and in a sufficient dosage to achieve full formation of the volatilizable compound. The surface of the volatilizable compound is exposed to a gas composition for a time duration sufficient to completely etch the volatilizable compound.

摘要: The present invention discloses a distributed base station system as well as its networking method and base band unit. In this system, the base band unit (BBU) and RF unit (RFU) of the base station are separated, and the RFU is equipped with base band RF interfaces for interconnecting the BBU and transmitting data information, thereby forming the base station. Based on the separation of the BBU from the RFU, the BBU capacity is further divided at the same time, and every unit is also arranged independently. The BBU networking and capacity expansion may be achieved with capacity expansion interfaces and base band RF interfaces provided by BBU interface units in flexible and convenient ways.
