摘要： A memory card performs decryption processing to extract a session key from data applied from a server to a data bus over a cellular phone network. An encryption processing unit encrypts a public encryption key of memory card based on a session key, and applies the same to the server via data bus. A register receives and stores data such as a decrypted license ID and a user ID from the server, and a memory receives and stores encrypted content data applied from a data bus and encrypted with a license key.

The license data providing device includes: an encrypted communication path establishing unit for establishing an encrypted communication path used for exchange of data with the storage device; a log storage unit for storing information regarding exchange of data with the storage device through the encrypted communication path, including information for identifying the storage device; and a retransmission/output determination unit for determining whether or not the contents usage right information should be restored, based upon the information regarding exchange of data, stored in the log storage unit.

摘要： The present invention provides a technique for improving the convenience of the user while protecting the copyright of contents. A device receives contents usage right information from a storage device, and decrypts encrypted contents data using a contents key contained in the contents usage right information thus received. At this time, the device stores status information which indicates the use state of the contents usage right information. Furthermore, the device measures elapsed time for decryption of the encrypted contents data using the contents key, or elapsed time for reproduction of the contents data decrypted using the contents key. The device determines whether or not the contents usage right information has been used, based upon the elapsed time thus measured. Then, the device updates the status information stored in a log storage device, based upon the determination result.

摘要： Confidential data such as license data is encrypted using the symmetric key encryption algorithm alone which requires smaller computation amount, and is readily realized by hardware means, as compared with the public key encryption algorithm. A license-data transmitter (y) encrypts license data LIC using two keys Kscy and Kssx supplied from a license-data receiver (x). The license data is provided to the license-data receiver in the form of encrypted license data E(Kscy, E(Kssx, LIC)). This enables high-speed processing without deterioration in security even if data access such as recording/readout of data is repeated.

A controller of the present invention compares a device type of an appliance connected to an in-home network with a skeleton stored in a skeleton DB. When a skeleton rule in accordance with the appliance type is not stored in the skeleton DB, a request for acquisition of the skeleton rule of the appliance is transmitted to a service agent. In addition, when the location of an appliance is moved, the controller sends a request for transmission of a new rule format to be added due to the movement to the service agent.

The cellular phone (100) and the memory card (110) collectively perform a part of mutual authentication processing upon power-on. The encrypted license key (Kc) read from the memory card (110) is decrypted by a first decryption processing portion (1510) with a session key (Ks4), and is further decrypted by a second decryption processing portion (1514) with a system symmetric key (Kcom) for extraction. A third encryption processing portion (1516) decrypts the encrypted content data read from memory card (110) with the license key (Kc) to reproduce content data (Data).

摘要： Provided is a network system which is capable of smooth remote control of appliances in a household while improving the security. A household server for controlling home appliances and an external server for mediating between the household server and a user terminal are set on an Internet. The household server gives a right to access only to the external server that is registered in advance. When accessed by the user terminal, the external server performs user authentication and, if the access is authenticated as from an authorized user, specifies which household server is to be used by the user, and makes an access request to the corresponding server. The household server checks whether the access request is valid or not and, when the access request is found as a result to be valid, allows the user terminal to input a control instruction through the intermediation of the external server.
