摘要: To provide a novel method for determining the risk of lymph node metastasis of breast cancer uses as an index the difference in the expression levels of marker genes between metastatic breast cancer tissue (or cell) and non-metastatic breast cancer tissue (or cell). The method involves (1) measuring the expression level of a gene having a base sequence in human metastatic breast cancer tissue (or cell), (2) measuring the expression level of the same gene in human non-metastatic breast cancer tissue (or cell), and (3) comparing the expression level of (1) with the expression level of (2) and determine the risk of lymph node metastasis of breast cancer based on the difference between the expression levels.

摘要: A depth of interaction detector with uniform pulse-height comprises a multi-layer scintillator obtained by coupling at least two scintillator cells on a plane and then stacking the planar coupled scintillator cells, in layers, up to at least two stages and a light-receiving element connected to the bottom face of each scintillator cell of this multi-layer scintillator, wherein the detector is provided with a means for discriminating the position of a scintillator cell, which receives radiant rays and emits light rays and a means for making, uniform, the quantity of the light emitted from each scintillator cell and received by the light-receiving element. The detector can provide precise detection information even when radiation is absorbed by and emitted from a scintillator layer positioned above the scintillator layer optically coupled to the light-receiving element, permits the production of a depth of interaction detector having a three-dimensional depth of interaction-detecting function and can provide the same total output signal, which is independent of the position or a specific scintillator cell practically emitting light if the radiation energy is identical.

摘要: An apparatus for optically transmitting signals from a rotatable body to a stationary side or vice versa in a non-contact manner, includes a plurality of light emitting elements excited by a PCM signal from a signal source and a plurality of light receiving elements disposed in opposition with the light emitting elements for receiving light therefrom. A plurality of sets each including plural light receiving or emitting elements are provided at the stationary side in association with the respective light emitting or receiving elements disposed at the rotatable body side. Alternatively, a plurality of sets each including plural light emitting elements are provided at the rotatable body side in association with the respective light receiving elements disposed at the stationary side. The elements in such plural sets are selected in accordance with the rotation of the rotatable body.

摘要: A helmet-type PET device includes a helmet portion (hemispherical detector) and an added portion (jaw portion detector, an ear portion detector, or a neck portion detector). The helmet portion includes a PET detector so as to cover a parietal region of an examination target. The added portion is positioned to dispose a PET detector at a part other than the parietal region of the examination target. PET measurement is performed using both an output from the PET detector at the helmet portion and an output from the PET detector at the added portion.

摘要: A radioactive substance detection device that detects a radioactive substance being present in a specified direction. A radiation detection element having a thickness that stops and detects a characteristic X-ray arriving from a radioactive substance being present in the specified direction that radiates both gamma rays and the characteristic X-rays, and allows the gamma ray arriving from the radioactive substance to pass through. A screening body having a thickness that screens out characteristic X-rays of radiation which arrives from directions other than the specified direction and allows gamma rays of radiation which arrives from directions other than the specified direction to pass through.

摘要: An inclined PET device is provided in which the cut plane of a detector ring upon which a plurality of PET detectors are disposed is inclined so that it does not intersect perpendicularly with the long axis of a bed that carries a subject to be examined and in which an open space that passes through the bed in a direction perpendicular to the long axis thereof is formed, in order to enable access to the subject to be examined. The PET detectors are disposed and stacked in a direction parallel to the long axis of the bed. Thereby, the number of PET detectors is reduced and device cost is reduced, while the detector ring as well as the device can be miniaturized. At the same time, the open space that passes through the bed in a direction perpendicular to the long axis can be preserved.
