Abstract: A first visual image of a region of interest is generated by means of an optical camera at the time when a first radiation image is recorded, a second visual image is generated by means of an optical camera of said same region of interest, first and second visual images are compared, and a second radiation image is recorded when said first and second visual images are substantially identical.

Abstract: The invention provides a processor for use in a system for obtaining a blood flow velocity measurement based on an angiogram obtained from a subject. The angiogram is representative of a vessel including a contrast agent therein, and wherein the contrast agent has been provided to the vessel in bursts at a given average frequency, thereby providing contrast data within the angiogram. The processor generates a velocity curve representing the blood flow velocity within the vessel over the cardiac cycle based on an estimated period of the cardiac cycle, an estimated instantaneous blood flow velocity of each angiogram image frame, a calculated confidence value of each angiogram image frame and the estimated point within the cardiac cycle represented by each angiogram image frame.

Abstract: An imaging device for acquiring a time series of in vivo images of a subject's body is provided. The imaging device includes energy sources, detectors for detecting energy from the energy sources passing through the subject's body located between the energy sources and detectors, and a controller configured to operate the energy sources and detectors to acquire a time series of in vivo images of the subject's body. Pairs of energy sources and detectors are spatially positioned around the subject's body in a first plane, and a pair of energy sources and detectors is spatially positioned around the subject's body in a second plane. The first plane and the second plane intersect through the subject's body to be imaged. A method for acquiring a time series of in vivo images of a subject's body using the imaging device is also provided.

Abstract: An inverse visualization of a time-resolved angiographic image data set of a vascular system of a patient that was recorded by a medical imager during the flow of a contrast medium through the vascular system is provided. The time-resolved angiographic image data set of the vascular system has a temporal sequence of frames of the vascular system corresponding to the contrast medium filling process. A data set from bolus arrival times for each pixel or voxel is determined. The bolus arrival time corresponds to the time in the temporal sequence at which a predetermined contrast enhancement due to the contrast medium filling first occurs. A data set of temporally inverted bolus arrival times with respect to the contrast medium filling is determined for each pixel or voxel, resulting in a temporally inverted sequence of frames with respect to the contrast medium filling. The time-resolved angiographic image data set in the temporally inverted sequence is visualized.
