Abstract: Methods and systems for characterizing tissue of a subject are disclosed. The method includes receiving a time series of fluorescence images of the tissue of the subject wherein the images define a plurality of calculation regions, generating a plurality of time-intensity curves for the plurality of calculation regions, creating a set of parameter values for each calculation region, generating a total rank value for each calculation region by comparing the sets of parameter values, and converting the total rank value into a ranking map image. Also disclosed are methods and systems for characterizing a wound in tissue by generating a wound index value.

Abstract: An X-ray imaging system using multiple pulsed X-ray sources in motion to perform high efficient and ultrafast 3D radiography is presented. There are multiple pulsed X-ray sources mounted on a structure in motion to form an array of sources. The multiple X-ray sources move simultaneously relative to an object on a pre-defined arc track at a constant speed as a group. Each individual X-ray source can also move rapidly around its static position in a small distance. When an X-ray source has a speed that is equal to group speed but with opposite moving direction, the X-ray source and X-ray flat panel detector are activated through an external exposure control unit so that source stay momentarily standstill. It results in much reduced source travel distance for each X-ray source. 3D scan can cover much wider sweep angle in much shorter time and image analysis can also be done in real-time.

Abstract: The invention provides a processor for use in a system for obtaining a blood flow velocity measurement based on an angiogram obtained from a subject. The angiogram is representative of a vessel including a contrast agent therein, and wherein the contrast agent has been provided to the vessel in bursts at a given average frequency, thereby providing contrast data within the angiogram. The processor generates a velocity curve representing the blood flow velocity within the vessel over the cardiac cycle based on an estimated period of the cardiac cycle, an estimated instantaneous blood flow velocity of each angiogram image frame, a calculated confidence value of each angiogram image frame and the estimated point within the cardiac cycle represented by each angiogram image frame.

Abstract: An imaging device for acquiring a time series of in vivo images of a subject's body is provided. The imaging device includes energy sources, detectors for detecting energy from the energy sources passing through the subject's body located between the energy sources and detectors, and a controller configured to operate the energy sources and detectors to acquire a time series of in vivo images of the subject's body. Pairs of energy sources and detectors are spatially positioned around the subject's body in a first plane, and a pair of energy sources and detectors is spatially positioned around the subject's body in a second plane. The first plane and the second plane intersect through the subject's body to be imaged. A method for acquiring a time series of in vivo images of a subject's body using the imaging device is also provided.

Abstract: A medical information processing apparatus of an embodiment includes an image acquiring unit, an event acquiring unit, a managing unit, and an output unit. The image acquiring unit sequentially acquires medical images during a treatment procedure for a subject. The event acquiring unit sequentially acquires events in the treatment procedure on the basis of the medical images during the treatment procedure. The managing unit manages the medical images and the events, in association with temporal information on the treatment procedure. The output unit outputs the medical images such that relations between the medical images and the events are able to be known.

Abstract: An inverse visualization of a time-resolved angiographic image data set of a vascular system of a patient that was recorded by a medical imager during the flow of a contrast medium through the vascular system is provided. The time-resolved angiographic image data set of the vascular system has a temporal sequence of frames of the vascular system corresponding to the contrast medium filling process. A data set from bolus arrival times for each pixel or voxel is determined. The bolus arrival time corresponds to the time in the temporal sequence at which a predetermined contrast enhancement due to the contrast medium filling first occurs. A data set of temporally inverted bolus arrival times with respect to the contrast medium filling is determined for each pixel or voxel, resulting in a temporally inverted sequence of frames with respect to the contrast medium filling. The time-resolved angiographic image data set in the temporally inverted sequence is visualized.
