摘要: A method for the fluoroscopic registration in real time for placement of pedicle screws or the like during spinal surgery, comprising creating a lateral image in which a pedicle has appropriate anatomic contour and superior endplate, advancing a pin into the pedicle starting in the posterior cortex and moved far enough into the pedicle to anchor the pin, rotating the fluoroscopy to obtain an AP image of the pedicle which is moved to render the pin to be neutral in a cephalad to candad direction, and positioning a pedicle screw in the pedicle following 2D contour mapping generated by manual or automated templating.

摘要: An implant for therapeutically separating bones of a joint has two endplates each having an opening through the endplate, and at least one ramped surface on a side opposite a bone engaging side. A frame is slideably connected to the endplates to enable the endplates to move relative to each other at an angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the implant, in sliding connection with the frame. An actuator screw is rotatably connected to the frame. A carriage forms an open area aligned with the openings in the endplates. The openings in the endplates pass through the carriage to form an unimpeded passage from bone to bone of the joint. The carriage has ramps which mate with the ramped surfaces of the endplates, wherein when the carriage is moved by rotation of the actuator screw, the endplates move closer or farther apart.

摘要: A prosthetic disc for insertion between adjacent vertebrae includes a core having upper and lower curved surfaces, upper and lower plates, and peripheral restraining structure on at least one of the upper plate, the lower plate and the core. Each plate has an outer surface which engages a vertebra and an inner curved surface which slides over the curved surface of the core. The peripheral restraining structure serves to hold the core against a curved surface of at least one of the plates during sliding movement of the plates over the core.

摘要: An intervertebral implant includes a core member operably coupled between an upper and a lower base member. An outer cavity extends between the core member upper end and lower end, and radially between the inner cavity and an outer surface of the core member. A core member inner wall is formed between the inner and an outer cavity, and a core member outer wall is formed between the outer cavity and the outer surface of the core member. A first locking member is positioned on at least one of the core member upper end and the core member lower end and at least one second locking member is positioned on an inner surface of at least one of the upper and lower base member for locking engagement. The upper and lower end of the core member are oriented at a lordotic angle ranging from 1 degrees to 20 degrees.

摘要: According to some embodiments, a method for promoting spinal fusion using a spinal implant comprises providing a spinal implant, wherein the spinal implant comprises an anterior wall, a posterior wall and two lateral walls configured to extend between the anterior wall and the posterior wall. In some embodiments, the spinal implant further comprises at least one internal chamber generally positioned between the anterior wall, the posterior wall and the two lateral walls, wherein the internal chamber being is adapted to receive at least one graft and/or other fill material. In some embodiments, at least a portion of the graft and/or other fill material delivered into the internal chamber is configured to exit through the one or more of the openings of the anterior wall.
