Abstract:
A method and device for providing performance feedback to a user during a session of using exercise equipment including measuring user input during the session using at least one sensor to gather sensor data, and transmitting the sensor data to a processing device. The sensor data is evaluated to determine at least one of a force metric, a frequency metric, and an accuracy metric. The at least one of the force metric, the frequency metric and the accuracy metric are compared to at least one predetermined performance goal. Audio and/or visual feedback is provided to the user based on the comparison of the at least one of the force metric, the frequency metric, and the accuracy metric with the at least one predetermined performance goal. The audio feedback includes varying a musical playback in at least one of speed, volume, and pitch.
Abstract:
A training apparatus 2 including a mannequin 4, for being struck by a person training for fighting, the apparatus comprising a support structure 6 for supporting the mannequin, the mannequin including a head 16, a torso, two arms 76 (having upper and lower arms) and two legs 10, and having joints at the shoulders 50, hips 56, knees 54 and elbows 52, wherein the joints at the shoulders are configured to variably adjust and fix the position of the upper arms relative to the torso in at least two orthogonal planes, and the joints at the elbows are configured to variably adjust and fix the position of the lower arms relative to the upper arms in at least one plane, the apparatus including ankle attachment means for removably attaching the ankles to the support structure.
Abstract:
A combat training device is disclosed that may include an elongated support having a shoulder rest at a rearward end and a punching target at a forward end. The punching target may be attached to a neck support adapted for removable engagement with the forward end of the elongated support. The device may further include a punching assembly having a reciprocating support with a handle at its rearward end and a punching member at its forward end. The reciprocating support may be disposed for longitudinal movement in generally parallel relationship to the elongated support. The reciprocating support may be rotatably disposed within a longitudinal bore that is disposed in generally parallel relationship to the elongated support and reciprocating support. The shoulder rest may be releasably engageable with the rearward end of the elongated support and moveable between adjustable locked positions, such as through the use of a detent mechanism. A punching target holder may be provided for attachment to a punching bag for use in removably attaching a neck support and attached punching target to the punching bag.
Abstract:
A martial arts training bag is provided having a substantially cylindrical upper portion and a tapered, e.g., frusto-conical, lower portion. The bag includes a central support and one or more training devices configured to be releasably connected to the central support. The bag includes at least four connectors to provide a four-point suspension.
Abstract:
A training bag attachment on a heavy boxing bag for training boxing techniques, specifically an upper cut that requires an elevated preferably suspended target. The upper cut training bag attachment provides for multiple independent target punching bags spaced around the heavy bag. The target punching bags are vertically adjustable and spaced to be outstanding from the mounting bag surface for use. An elastic retainer assembly provides for automatic resilient return displacement after impact, affording a user multiple continuously resetting targets.
Abstract:
A training appliance for practicing combat sports, contact sports or grappling sports, includes a punching bag (1) having an envelope (3) including a closing wall (19) forming a bottom wall at the lower end thereof, and a second closing wall (6) at the top end. The appliance includes a horizontal base (20) for supporting the bag on the ground, that can be immobilized on the ground (S) and on which the punching bag (1) rests, by the wall (19) thereof. A mechanical connection is established between the base and the wall (19), authorizing the pivoting movement of the bag (1) around the point of contact between the wall (19) and the sole (20). The bag (1) also includes at least one unit (21, 64) for returning same to the vertical position.
Abstract:
A compact heavy bag support stand system occupies a relatively small surface area and allows for the quick and convenient, installation of a multi-faceted exercise regime system. The system may include a spine having an arm extending outwardly and perpendicularly from a first end, and a dual support limb extending in a downward vertical direction along the spine and a support limb extending outwardly at an angle from a mounting end, the mounting end being fixedly secured to the floor.
Abstract:
A multi-mount heavy bag designed for a single user for striking with the intent of developing and conditioning users muscles and skill with at least one unique sculpted body side having contoured features and developed striking areas with at least one forward extended head like appendage that creates for the user a unique orientation to the bag simulating an opponent: providing a distinct opponent posture and specific exposed set of target areas. A bag that can be suspended from either the top, or mounted to a surface below that will provide multidirectional movement. A device of three embodiments of construction each has an option of a digital data analysis package that consists of appropriate components and software for: data storage, retrieval and or wireless transmission for displaying a visual and auditory measure of the intensity of the strike and providing analysis and comparison of performance data.
Abstract:
A fight simulation multi-headed, multi-abdomen, multi-armed apparatus is adapted to be used in conjunction with a slip and counter fight simulation apparatus or stand alone apparatus. The fight simulation multi-headed, multi-abdomen, multi-armed apparatus includes a multi-headed member having at least one head attached to at least one abdomen and at least one arm having a glove appending member. Preferably, multiple heads are attached to multiple abdomens with multiple arm pairs to provide different punch configurations for the user to strike at. The multi-headed, multi-abdomen, multi-armed provides various angles adapted for a user to punch, knee, and/or do a flying knee.
Abstract:
A boxing or martial arts training and exercise device may include punching pads locationally displaced on a frame. Respective pads may be positioned in support on the frame for punching and kicking. Each pad can communicatively connect to one or more impact sensor. Each impact sensor can communicatively connect to a control unit. The control unit may be communicatively connected to a display. The impact sensor detects strikes to the pad. The impact sensor includes an accelerometer and a signal processor. The control unit includes an aggregator for receiving and logging strike metrics. The control unit directs sequences in the display according to a routine, and delivers indicators of strike metrics. The control unit includes a user interface for selection among sequences, as well as for selection of various menu items. A video of a human instructor or an animated avatar is viewable in a display.
