Abstract:
Process for fabricating a conveyor component having germicidal properties, in which a blend of a polymeric material and a composition comprising a polymerizable monomer and a germicidal agent is molded to form a conveyor component having germicidal properties comprising a solid unitary polymeric material and a polymerized salt of a polymerizable monomer and a germicidal agent grafted to the polymeric material and distributed uniformly throughout the polymeric material.
Abstract:
Modular belting for use in the food processing industry having a smooth, planed surface, and an apparatus and method for refurbishing damaged belting. The apparatus includes a frame with a conveyor system. A mechanism is attached to the frame for removing a desired amount of the belting surface as the belting moves relative to the frame on the conveyor system.
Abstract:
A conveyor belt (1) for conveying goods in solid or liquid state comprises a goods-carrying endless element (2), which is made of an elastic material, and a single belt-supporting wire (4), which is fixedly connected to one lateral edge (3) of the endless element. The endless element (2) has in cross section and in its unloaded state essentially the form of a hook for forming a goods-receiving space. It is sufficiently rigid in the transverse direction of the conveyor belt so as to essentially retain the hook shape when conveying goods in the goods-receiving space.
Abstract:
A cleat for a conveyor belt, particularly for a vertical conveyor, with a cleat foot 2 attachable to the support side of the conveyor belt, and in which at least one anchoring member 5 is incorporated, and with a cleat section 1 forming a transverse wall of the conveyor belt, which is releasably attachable to the cleat foot 2 with the aid of the anchoring member 5. With the object of enabling a simpler attachment of the cleat section to the cleat foot, the anchoring member 5 is a rod, which extends transversely to the direction of travel 6 of the conveyor belt in the cleat foot 2. The rod may have threaded holes 12, which match holes 13 in the cleat foot 2 and holes 3 in the cleat section 1, through which screws 4 can be thrust in order to attach the cleat section 1. Alternatively, the rod may have bolts projecting radially therefrom, the bolts for extending through respective holes in the cleat section for securing the cleat section to the cleat foot with nuts.
Abstract:
There are provided two flat belts which rotate in opposite directions. Between the two belts, materials are put and conveyed upwards. A head pulley around which one of the belts is wound is driven by a motor, and another head pulley around which the other of the belts is wound is connected to the head pulley driven by the motor via sprockets, an endless chain, a shaft and two gears. The two belts are driven and rotated by the same motor, thereby simplifying its structure.
Abstract:
An input station for a wide continuous conveyor belt that moves in a conveyor run through an input station to a discharge location, around a head pulley, through a return run around a tail pulley, and back into the input station. At the input station the belt rides on a plurality of N conventional central support rollers each mounted between two inner stanchions. A plurality of at least 2N elongated, flat, stationary slider rails support each extreme outer edge of the conveyor belt through the input station. There are 2N troughing rolls, one at each end of each central roller, between the slider rails and the central rollers. 2N fixed inner stanchions support each central roller and one end of each of its troughing rollers. 2N fixed medial support members each support one end of a troughing roller. The slider rails are supported by the medial support members and by 2N outer stanchions.
Abstract:
A conveyor comprising a pair of conveyor units each comprising a frame supporting a roller at each end over which a conveyor belt passes as a continuous loop in a channel defined by side walls of the frame, characterised in that the frames (3) of the two conveyor units (1,2) are connected together with respective runs of the conveyor belts (5) opposed face-to-face so that they and the respective side walls (6) along both sides define an enclosed conveying channel (8), at least one roller (4) of the frames (3) being driven by a motor (10) so that the opposed runs of the conveyor belts (5) move in the same direction to convey material therebetween, and a plurality of projections (15) are provided across the surfaces of the conveyor belts (5) so as to engage and support material vertically within the conveying channel (9).
Abstract:
A material conveyor consisting of a belt supporting floor having a multiplicity of air cushion apertures therethrough, a walled chamber attached to the material conveyor, the upper wall of the walled chamber consisting of the belt supporting floor, the walled chamber having a plurality of partitions there across dividing the chamber into segmented air pressure control chambers; a branched air induction tube attached to the material conveyor such tube being capable of injecting pressurized air into the air pressure control chambers; a conveyor belt mounted on the material conveyor so that its interior surface is in contact with the belt supporting floor; and a belt driving motor capable of driving the conveyor belt.
Abstract:
A conveyor unit for a high wall mining system; a mining system employing a train of such units. The conveyor units are pushed in tandem into the mine. The system contemplates a motor mounted on a cutter at the head of the train; through a series of shafts and clutches, serially through the train of conveyor units, rotation power is transferred mechanically from the motor to turn the conveyor belts of the individual units. The invention includes a preferred coupling/clutch apparatus and a launch vehicle for adding conveyor units to the train which has the ability to start the rotation of the conveyor belt on the new unit as it is added.
Abstract:
Apparatus for use in repairing a conveyor system having a belt supported by a series of rollers mounted along a frame which supports the conveyor belt above the ground of a mining operation. The apparatus includes a belt support and at least one lifter connected to the belt support. The lifter operatively supports the belt support from the conveyor system frame and provides mechanical advantage in raising the belt support to lift at least one portion of the belt relative to the conveyor system, thereby separating the belt portion from at least one of the conveyor system rollers and freeing the roller.
