    摘要: Particular embodiments of the invention include methods and apparatus for deforming a tire sidewall. Such methods include the step of providing a tire having at least one sidewall connected to a corresponding bead. A further step includes constraining at least one of the sidewall and bead from moving laterally toward the other. Yet another step of such methods includes engaging the sidewall with an inclined member. Another step of such methods includes moving at lest one of the sidewall and bead in a lateral direction away from the other until the sidewall is laterally deformed into a laterally deformed configuration.

    摘要: Refinishing an exterior automotive lens having a damaged exterior surface in situ using a continuous movement and oscillating motion, with first, a 320 grit sanding disc, next a 600 grit sanding disc and finally a 1500 grit sanding pad while flushing the surface with water to prevent melting of the surface. Buffing the surface with a polishing compound until a high gloss is achieved. Finally, coating the surface with a transparent ultraviolet hardenable coating material, and hardening it by exposure to an ultraviolet light source. This method is accomplished using an oscillating tool having a remotely located drive.

    摘要: The method is for partially or completely rebuilding a damaged lens of a vehicle lamp, particularly a lens having an interior surface with a pattern of optical dispersion elements. It allows to inexpensively rebuild a lens, such as the lens of a tail lamp or signal lamp. A thermoplastic lens obtained with the present method can also be used to replace a broken glass lens of a headlamp. In the method, a patch of a flat thermoplastic material is provided to replace the damaged section of the lens or, in some cases, the whole lens. The patch is grooved to duplicate the pattern of optical dispersion elements. In case the damaged section or lens to be replaced is not flat, the patch is heat softened and shaped with the use of a mould created from the damaged section or lens. The patch is subsequently fixed to the housing. This method is simple, inexpensive and can be carried out locally whenever necessary.
