The opening element (42) is insertable into the receiver in a removable manner, and the receiver (40) is arranged relative to the connection terminal (28) in a manner such that when the opening element (42) is inserted into the receiver (42), the opening element (42) acts on the connection terminal (28) and keeps this in an opened condition.

The friction clutch assembly includes a friction lining carrier member, a friction lining member, a compression spring member, a clutch carrier member and a flux plate member. A solenoid can be utilized to control the compression of the spring member. The friction clutch assembly has a preferred use in a hybrid coolant pump with two modes of operation, an electric motor operation, and a mechanical pulley-driven operation. The friction clutch assembly can be positioned inside a motor housing. The softening compression spring can minimize parasitic clutch power consumption.

The fuel pump assembly includes a brushless direct current (BLDC) motor and a circuit board formed as a discrete component from the BLDC motor. The BLDC motor includes a stator with a plurality of windings. A screw, or some other fastener, extends through the circuit board and threadedly engages a portion of the BLDC motor. The screws serve the dual functions of attaching the circuit board to the BLDC motor and electrically connecting the BLDC motor to the circuit board to power the BLDC motor.

The ground contact is connected in an electrically conductive manner to a ground contact of the plug or socket (34) and to at least one conductor inside the terminal box (12). The electric connection between the ground contact arranged on the motor housing (8) and the ground contact of the plug or socket (34) is arranged outside of the terminal box (12).
