摘要： A flexible drive coupling comprised of a pair of identical coupling members and a flexible coupling insert disposed between the two coupling members for transmitting torque from the coupling member connected to the shaft of the prime mover to the coupling member connected to the shaft of the load. Each of the coupling members has a generally epitrochoidal-shaped insert disposed within a similarly shaped bore in the coupling member. The insert in turn has a shaft bore formed therein and a break in one wall thereof so that when torque is applied thereto, the insert readily conforms to the size of the shaft to thereby clamp the coupling member to the shaft.

摘要： A device is disclosed for locking a first screw, or other rotatable part, within a cavity in an impeller. The screw incorporates a cavity containing a spring. A second screw is positioned in the head of the first screw in such a way that it may be used to force the spring into resilient cooperation with the surrounding surface. The first screw is locked thereby to the surrounding surface and is prevented from threading-out under certain heavy load conditions. This development is especially useful for locking an impeller to a pump shaft.

摘要： A wedge-shaped sleeve is inserted between the inner race of a bearing and a shaft to clamp the bearing to the shaft. The sleeve, which is resilient with a longitudinal slit, has a rib thereon to engage a groove in the bearing race to hold the sleeve and bearing in assembled relation when the sleeve is relaxed. An alternative sleeve, which is split to constitute two separate halves, is disclosed. There is also shown a bearing mounted in a bore in which the tapered sleeve is received between the bore and the outer race of the bearing.

摘要： A rotatable coupling includes a sleeve engaging a shaft having an end provided with opposite parallel flats, which end is received in the bore of the sleeve. The sleeve has a recess in its inner face with a flat base at a transverse angle to the confronting shaft flat and a wedge-shaped key is located in the recess with opposite converging faces engaging the shaft flat and recess base. Screws accessible externally of the sleeve engage tapped traverse bores communicating with the recess and bear on opposite ends of the key to permit its transverse adjustment. The opposite shaft flat is engaged by a confronting flat on the sleeve. A compression spring urges the key toward the deep side of the recess.
