Implementations of a method for drying particles may include: introducing particles through an inlet into a first fluid bed section; migrating the particles onto a bed deck; injecting a gas towards the particles through openings in the bed deck; migrating some of the particles through a variable-sized gate opening between the bed deck and a riser; migrating a portion of the particles into the riser; propelling the portion of the particles in the riser upwards by an injection of a gas into the riser; directing a first fraction of the portion of the particles out of the first fluid bed section and into a second fluid bed section through an outlet using a deflector feature; and directing a second fraction of the portion of the particles onto a bed deck of the second fluid bed section by interaction with an impingement feature.

    摘要: An apparatus serves for the treatment of particulate material and comprises a process chamber for the reception and treatment of the particulate material. The process chamber has a bottom provided with a passage orifice through which the process air can be introduced into said process chamber and an outlet for the discharge of said process air from said process chamber. A device for conditioning said process air and for circulating said process air in a circuit through said process chamber said outlet and back to said bottom has at least one fan for circulating said process air at least one condenser and at least one process air heater. A filter arrangement is provided for removing solids from said process air flowing out of said process chamber. A second chamber is arranged around said process chamber within said second chamber at least parts of said filter arrangement at least parts of said device for conditioning the process air are received.

    摘要: A catalyst activator vessel for heat conditioning a catalyst is disclosed. The activator vessel includes inner and outer vessels, a perforated, normally generally horizontal grid plate within the inner vessel, and a fluid path extending through the grid plate within the vessel. The inner vessel can have an inside diameter of at least 50 inches (1.27 m). The space between the inner and outer vessels defines a flue. The perforated grid plate within the inner vessel can have an upper surface perforated with a pattern of overlapping, generally conical depressions and a lower surface, optionally overlapping by at least 17%. The fluid path extends upwardly through the perforated grid plate and is a conduit along which a fluid flows through the grid plate. The fluid will fluidize a particulate material, such as a catalyst, disposed above the grid plate in the inner vessel.

    摘要: An apparatus for heating and/or cooling a plurality of particles including a generally circular bed for holding the particles, the bed having a substantially centered annular inner bed wall, an outer bed wall and an irregular bottom. The apparatus also includes a drive mechanism rotatably affixed to said bed, where rotation of the drive mechanism at a predetermined rate produces a displacement of the bed horizontally and vertically resulting in a particle flow in the x, y and z directions. The particle flow in the x and y planes for a majority of said particles is in a dominant direction. The apparatus also includes an airplant which provides a heated and/or cooled airflow tangentially into the bed in a direction opposite to the dominant direction.
