    摘要: A variable residence time drying system for moist material includes a valveless pulse combustor and a drying chamber. The drying chamber includes a lower sidewall with an upward expanding configuration that defines a lower inverted partial cone, an upper sidewall with an upward contracting configuration, a lifting rotor disposed within the lower inverted partial cone to suspend material being dried within a shear/drying zone, an opening through which moist material is fed into the drying chamber, and an exit located at a top portion of the drying chamber through which dried material exits the drying chamber. The valveless pulse combustor produces drying gas and sonic vibrations that are introduced tangentially into the shear/drying zone. One or more cyclones receive dried material and collect small particles. The lifting rotor may rotate in a direction counter to a direction in which the heated drying gas is introduced into the drying chamber.

    摘要: The invention relates to a nozzle bottom device and to a method for operating the latter. The nozzle bottom arrangement has a nozzle group with first nozzles and a further nozzle group with second nozzles. The two nozzle groups can be supplied independently of each other with a fluidizing medium. The respective volumetric flow can be switched on and off or can be adjusted variably. The first nozzles and the second nozzles are uniformly distributed over the entire surface of the nozzle bottom arrangement. As a result, a homogeneous fluidized bed is produced in the fluidized bed dryer irrespective of whether only one of the nozzle groups or all of the nozzles is or are operated.

    摘要: A bed (6; 78) of particulate material, which is supported by a gas distribution bottom (9; 75), is located utilizing a treatment gas, which via ducts (19; 35; 77) is conducted in sectionalized manner to and directed up through the gas distribution bottom and the bed of material from one or several underlying compartments (15; 76). The flow of the treatment gas through each duct (19; 35; 77) is self regulated by means of a flow regulator (21) provided in each duct. It is thereby obtained that the total pressure loss across the gas distribution bottom can be reduced, that the flow of the treatment gas through the material bed is distributed in a desirable and well-defined manner across the entire gas distribution bottom regardless of the composition of the material bed and the distribution thereon, and that tunnel formations are avoided.

    摘要: A material treatment system for treatment of particulate material includes a transport conveyor including a transport surface for transporting particulate material through a treatment zone, conveying compartments attached to the transport surface, and foraminous cover structure travelling with and covering the conveying compartments. The system further includes a supply plenum above the treatment zone, a gas flow system for placing particles on the conveyor in fluidized condition as they move through the treatment zone, and exhaust structure for moving gases from the treatment zone upwardly away from the treatment zone. The conveying compartments and foraminous cover retain particulate material being fluidized and provide increased control of the position and movement of the particles passing through the treatment zone of the system.

    摘要: A fluid bed dryer includes a tank with an upright wall, a top, and a floor which rotates under a plurality of blades adjacent the floor and fixed to an inner annular baffle. A gas manifold is defined between the tank wall and the baffle, and opens under the baffle into a drying space in the tank.A pulse jet engine pumps pulsating hot gas and sonic waves to the gas manifold to fluidize a bed of moist particles which are introduced into the drying space above the blades. There is a time average uniform exposure of the bed to the fluidizing gas effected by continuously changing the exposure of the particles to the gas. Pulsating hot gas and sonic energy waves flow from the periphery of the tank toward the center of the dryer. The pulse jet engine also supplies an auxiliary gas inlet at the side of the tank to maintain a swirl of gas above the fluidized bed. An adjustable bypass diverts the flow of gas from the auxiliary inlet to the gas manifold for adjusting the strength of the gas swirl. Gas and dried products are withdrawn from the dryer, and the gas is recycled to the tailpipe end of the pulse jet engine. The pulse jet inlet is supercharged to provide sufficient oxygen to support continuous combustion. The supercharged atmosphere is kept from feeding the tailpipe exhaust. Drying proceeds in an inert atmosphere.
