Abstract:
The present invention discloses processes for oligomerizing an olefin feedstock containing C4 to C20 alpha olefins using a catalyst system containing a metallocene compound, an organoaluminum compound, and a suspension of a chemically-treated solid oxide. The liquid medium for the suspension of the chemically-treated solid oxide can be an alpha-olefin oligomer product formed by the oligomerization process.

Abstract:
A reactor comprises an outer sidewall and a bottom wall enclosing a hollow chamber comprising a lower fluidized bed zone and an upper freeboard zone. A plurality of inlets is provided for injecting at least one fluidizing medium into the fluidized bed zone and creating a swirling flow. At least one feed inlet communicates with the fluidized bed zone; and at least one product outlet is provided for removing a product from the chamber, the outlet(s) communicating with either the fluidized bed zone or the freeboard zone. The reactor has at least one internal barrier located inside the hollow chamber, and at least partly located in the fluidized bed zone. The internal barrier(s) have at least one opening within the fluidized bed zone, such as an underflow opening, to permit internal recirculation of material from the product zone to the feed zone, thereby simplifying reactor structure.
Abstract:
A method for preparing polyolefin from alpha-olefin with high productivity using an internal circulating fluidized bed polymerization reactor is disclosed. The method for gas-phase polymerization of alpha-olefin comprising the steps of: supplying circulation gas including one or more alpha-olefins and inert gas into a polymerization reactor; polymerizing the alpha-olefin to polyolefin in two separated polymerization areas in the polymerization reactor; and discharging produced polyolefin from the polymerization reactor. The polymerization reactor is divided into the two polymerization areas by a draft tube, and an inside of the draft tube forms a riser where growing polyolefin polymers move up in fast fluidization, and an outside of the draft tube forms an annulus where the polyolefin polymers passing the riser move down by gravity, and the polyolefin polymers passing the annulus are introduced to a lower part of the riser again, so that the polyolefin polymers are polymerized during circulating between the riser and the annulus.

Abstract:
A reactor for converting a feedstream having one or more oxygenated compounds to a product containing olefins is provided. The reactor comprises a fluidized reaction zone defined by a reactor wall and a feedstream inlet located adjacent the reaction zone. The feedstream inlet is operative to feed the reaction zone with said feedstream. A riser extends from said reaction zone and carries a vaporized combination of said feedstream and said catalyst from said reaction zone to a disengaging zone fed by the riser. At least one cooling tube is disposed within the reactor and extends substantially vertically and substantially parallel to the reactor wall. The cooling tube is located adjacent the reactor wall and extends from an upper portion of the reaction zone towards a lower portion of the reaction zone. Also provided is a cooling system for a methanol to olefin reactor. Finally, a method of producing olefins from a feedstream having an oxygenate is provided. The method includes cooling the reaction which produces olefins from the oxygenate feedstream.
