    摘要: A thermal infrared sensor is provided in a housing with optics and a chip with thermoelements on a membrane. The membrane spans a frame-shaped support body that is a good heat conductor, and the support body has vertical or approximately vertical walls. The object is to provide a thermopile infrared sensor in monolithic silicon micromachining technology, wherein the infrared sensor has a high thermal resolution capacity with a small chip size, a high degree of filling and a high response rate. The thermopile sensor structure consists of a few long thermoelements per sensor cell. The thermoelements being arranged on connecting webs that connect together hot contacts on an absorber layer to cold contacts of the thermoelements. The membrane is suspended by one or more connecting webs and has, on both sides of the long thermoelements, narrow slits that separate the connecting webs from both the central region and also the support body. At least the central region is covered by the absorber layer.

    摘要: A multispectral imaging array system and method of forming the same. A substrate and a group of antennas can be located with respect to one another on the substrate, such that respective gaps are formed between each antenna group and wherein different antenna sizes may be used for different spectral ranges. Additionally, one or more nanowires can be located within one or more gaps among the respective gaps, such that the nanowires in communication with the antennas and the substrate comprise a multispectral imaging system in which the use of the nanowire(s) decreases the thermal time constant and therefore the read out rate from the antennas while decreasing the ambient gas cooling speed relative to the read out rate to increase the manufacturability of the multispectral imaging array system.

    摘要: An infrared sensor and infrared imaging system, wherein said infrared sensor comprises: a first film structure, a second film structure, a gap between said first film structure and said second film structure. Reference light is incident from one of said first film structure and said second film structure. When said gap distance changes, the intensity of transmitted reference light changes, and the intensity of reflected reference light changes. When infrared light is incident, at least one of the said first and second film structures absorbs infrared light and the temperature changes, causing said gap distance to change. By detecting the intensity of said transmitted reference light or reflected reference light, the incident infrared light can be measured.

    摘要: A detector arrangement for electromagnetic radiation has at least an absorbing element and a cantilever sensor which are in operational connection with each other, so that the sensor is bendable in response to electromagnetic radiation absorbed by the absorbing element. The arrangement further includes an interferometer for measuring bending of the cantilever sensor. In a method for measuring electromagnetic radiation, electromagnetic radiation is directed on to the absorbing element and thereby bending of the cantilever sensor is caused. Bending of the cantilever sensor is measured with an interferometer. The cantilever sensor can be a door-like flap made of silicon, attached to one side of a frame of silicon.

    摘要: A pixel structure for use in an infrared imager is provided. The pixel structure includes a substrate and a bolometer. The bolometer includes a transducer that has a spaced apart relationship with respect to the substrate and has an electrical resistance that varies in response to changes in the temperature of the transducer. The bolometer also includes an absorber that has a spaced apart relationship with respect to the transducer and has a thermal connection to the transducer permitting radiation absorbed by the absorber to heat the transducer. The absorber has a top side defining a recess or channel in the absorber. The recess or channel is adapted to effect the propagation path of a portion of radiation received by the absorber such that the radiation portion is absorbed by the absorber rather than exiting the absorber. The recess or channel also decreases the thermal mass of the bolometer.
