In a main body of the recording material supply device, a space is formed between the inner wall on a peripheral equipment connecting side and a longitudinal transport path so as to allow the longitudinal transport path to open from a front side of the recording material supply device. The longitudinal transport path is provided for transporting the recording material from the recording material supply device to the image recording device.

摘要： A door assembly movably positioned to a body of an image forming device. The door assembly includes a first frame and a second frame. The first frame is movably attached to the body, and the second frame is movably attached to the first frame. The movable connections between the frames and the main body cause accurate locating of a photoconductive member mounted on the door assembly within the body. In one embodiment, a contour surface within the body contacts the second frame to locate the second frame within the body. Methods of moving the door assembly are also disclosed including moving the door assembly from an open orientation that is spaced from the body, to a closed orientation that is in proximity to the body. The movement of the door assembly causes interaction between the frames and the body to accurately locate the second frame.

A measurer is disposed at an upstream end of the detecting range in the transport direction, and is operable to measure a moving distance of the sheet. A detector is disposed at a downstream end of the detecting range in the transport direction, and is operable to detect a leading end edge of the sheet. A processor is operable to detect a jam in case that the moving distance is longer than a distance of the detecting range in the transport direction while the leading end edge of the sheet is not detected by the detector.

When occurrence of a jam is detected by the jam detecting unit, the control unit recognizes whether a special sheet having been fed is present in the image forming system, and if it is recognized that a special sheet is present in the image forming system, the control unit controls the conveying unit, after the jam being released, to eject a special sheet or sheets as unnecessary up to one that is disposed preceding a special sheet that is of the same kind as a most front one that was present in the image forming system at the time of the occurrence of the jam.

摘要： There is provided an image forming apparatus. In the image forming apparatus, a paper feeder is detachably installed in the image forming apparatus and feeds the paper to the image forming unit. The paper feeder comprises a first paper feed unit for feeding the paper to the image forming unit along a first paper passage and a second paper feed unit for feeding the paper to the image forming unit along a second paper passage. Also, the paper feeder comprises a guide surface that forms a portion of the paper passage. Therefore, jammed paper can be easily removed after pulling the paper feeder out of the image forming apparatus, thereby increasing the stability of the image forming apparatus and user's convenience. Further, jammed paper at the first paper passage and/or the second paper passage can be easily removed due to the integral form of the first and second feed unit.
