Abstract: A microphone comprises: a vibration member having a plate shape and formed so as to have elasticity and cause bending due to sound waves; a case having a depressed groove, which forms an air layer between the depressed groove and the vibration member since the vibration member is stacked on an upper part thereof, and coupled to the upper part of the depressed groove such that the vibration member is vibrated by sound waves; and a vibration detection unit provided on the vibration unit and the case and measuring the vibration of the vibration member vibrating by sound waves on the case, wherein when the vibration member vibrates, the air in the air layer flows so as to damp the vibration of the vibration member.

Abstract: There are provided an ultrasound image generating apparatus, which generates a high-quality ultrasound image even in a deep portion of a subject, and a control method thereof. In the ultrasound image (Img), for a portion (Ar2) deeper than the depth threshold value (D1), an interpolation scanning line (L2) located between the real scanning lines (L1) is generated from an acoustic wave echo signal having a positional deviation between a focusing position of ultrasound waves and an observation target position. Also for a portion deeper than the interpolation scanning line (L2), a high-quality ultrasound image (Img) is obtained.

Abstract: Wind noise reduction in microphone signals. A first microphone signal is obtained from a first omnidirectional microphone and, contemporaneously, a second microphone signal is obtained from a second omnidirectional microphone. The first and second microphone signals are mixed to produce an output signal. Mixing involves weighting the first and second microphone signals by respective first and second signal weights to produce respective first and second weighted microphone signals, and summing the first and second weighted microphone signals together to produce the output signal. The first and second signal weights are calculated to minimise the power of the output signal.

Abstract: An audio source location, tracking and isolation system, particularly suited for use with person-mounted microphone arrays. The system increases capabilities by reducing resources required for certain functions so those resources can be utilized for result enhancing processes. A wide area scan may be utilized to identify the general vicinity of an audio source and a narrow scan to locate pinpoint positions may be initiated in the general vicinity identified by the wide area scan. Subsequent locations may be anticipated by compensating for motion of the sensor array and anticipated changes in source location by trajectory. Identification may use two or more sets of characterizations and rules. The characterizations may use computationally less intense analyses to characterize audio and only perform computationally higher intensity analysis if needed. Rule sets may be used to eliminate the need to track audio sources that emit audio to be eliminated from an audio output.

Abstract: A method and system for a noise cancellation comprises an amplifier in communication with the three or more speakers disposed in an area. A system controller produces a driver signal for each of the speakers in response to a signal from at least one microphone detecting sound in the area and communicates the driver signals to the amplifier. The amplifier drives each speaker with the driver signal produced for that speaker. In response to the driver signals, the speakers emit sound that combined produces a substantially uniform sound pressure field for a particular zone within the area. The substantially uniform sound pressure field produced by the speakers has a magnitude and phase adapted to attenuate a noise field in the area corresponding to the sound detected by the at least one microphone.
