摘要： Thermal conduction through a liquid line is deterred when liquid is not flowing through it by lodging a double-acting spring-centered plunger in a constricted section of a passage connecting opposite ends of a barrel in the line. Such plunger can be displaced from the passage constricted section in either direction to a passage expanded section automatically by pressure of liquid in the line resulting from opening a valve in the line.

摘要： A housing is divided into two chambers. A tube connects the two chambers. The end of the tube forms a valve seat on each end. The valve seat in one chamber angles upward and the valve seat in the opposite chamber angles downward. A flapper valve is attached above the top of the valve seat which angles upward, and at the bottom of the valve seat which angles downward. Gravity acting upon the flapper valves will hold one in the open position and the other in the closed position unless it is opened by a flow of fluid. Turning the housing upside down will reverse the position of the flapper valves so that the permitted fluid flow will be reversed.

Springs force the closure pieces against the seats, and the fluid pressure will act in both directions for removing the closures from the seats and causing fluid pressure relief. A movable member engages the closure pieces to remove them from the seats and to also fluid-tightly seal with them up to the point of fluid pressure relief created by the springs.

As an improvement over the prior art, the main valve opening is closed manually by a member being seated therein, and this member is then held in place under pressure, the member, however, having an internal pressure-releasing valve for releasing the "holding pressure" when it is necessary to move the member into a clearance position off of the valve opening.

摘要： A high volume, fluid pressure relief valve for the top of a vent opening in a fluid storage tank. The valve includes a valve member which is reciprocal to and from a valve seat disposed in alignment with the vent opening. Constant force spring means coact with the valve member for normally retaining the valve member in closed condition, whereby the fluid pressure force required to move the valve member remains substantially constant throughout the travel of the valve member. A large venting capacity is provided in a single compact valve device and the valve is so constructed and arranged that pilferage from the storage tank is prevented. Also the valve may include an arrangement allowing "in-breathing" of the storage tank.
