    摘要: The invention relates to a method for controlling a rolling process, in which a metal strip is rolled flat by use of at least one roller. It is known from the prior art that the relative position of a neutral point represents a measure of the instantaneous stability of a rolling process. However, traditional methods for calculating the position of the neutral point do not accurately represent the actual properties of metal and therefore have only limited usefulness for predicting the stability of a rolling process. In order to allow better control of a rolling process for rolling a metal strip with regard to the actual behavior of the metal strip, the invention proposes a new method for calculating the relative position of the neutral point, in which in particular the flat yield stress ke and the hydrostatic pressure pNH at the neutral point are incorporated.

At the same time, the band thickness can be preset by the specification of a rolling force or adjustment position adapted over a certain time period from the actual data of reference conditions of the roll stand or the rolling mill train.

    摘要: This invention provides a continuous hot rolling process for making thin strip in which it is possible to roll strips at high rolling speeds required to keep a finisher delivery temperature equal to or higher than an Ar.sub.3 transformation temperature. The gist of the present invention resides in a continuous hot rolling process in which the rolling speed of a final finishing mill is kept constant or slightly increased until the leading end of rolled strip travels from the final finishing mill to a down coiler which process comprises: rolling a predetermined length of the leading end portion of a stock being rolled in accordance with a strip thickness greater than a finished thickness; then reducing the strip thickness to the finished thickness by gauge alteration in rolling; and subsequently rolling the following portion.

Apparatus for practicing the method also is disclosed.

    摘要: The invention provides a method for controlling a continuous rolling mill having at least ith and (i+1)th stands and a control apparatus therefor, wherein an exit strip thickness reference value of an automatic gauge control is changed in accordance with a predetermined strip length during size changing and roll gap is corrected so as to change a strip thickness at an exit side of the ith stand, when a size (e.g., thickness) is changed during rolling, and, at the same time, a roll peripheral speed of the ith stand is changed in correspondence with a change in forward slip (a change in entry strip thickness, a change in exit strip thickness, and a change in resistance to deformation) of the ith stand as well as changes in forward slip, exit strip thickness, entry strip thickness and roll peripheral speed of the (i+1)th stand, so as to make the strip speed at the exit side of the ith stand coincide with that at the entry side of the (i+1)th stand, thereby minimizing the interstand tension and performing smooth size changing.
