Abstract:
A 3D shaped product (20) is formed by hot pressing of an air-laid blank (10) comprising natural fibers at a concentration of at least 70% by weight of the air-laid blank and a thermoplastic polymer binder at a concentration selected within an interval of from 2.5 up to 30% by weight of the air-laid blank. The 3D shaped product (20) is recyclable in a repulping process. At least a part of the thermoplastic polymer binder is water soluble at a repulping temperature of the repulping process. The 3D shaped product (20) are environmentally friendly alternatives to plastic 3D shaped products made by foamed polymers and can be recycled in existing recycling schemes.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a process of manufacturing a thickened angle ring. The process includes the steps of: soaking wet paper into deionized water for 1 hour; beating bonding surfaces of the two pieces of wet paper into fuzzed and rough surfaces; placing a heat resisting polyester film and a nylon net on a mold, and placing one fuzzed wet paper on the mold in contact with the nylon net on smooth side thereof; placing the other wet paper in contact with the fuzzed surface of the previous wet paper on fuzzed side thereof, and beating until the wet paper fits the mold; placing a further heat resisting polyester film and a further nylon net on the two pieces of wet paper for pressing.
Abstract:
A machine for producing paper beverage stirring spoons or sticks, comprises: —a paper feeding station (2, 12), —a processing station (3, 4, 13, 14, 30) to die-cut the paper arriving from the feeding station (2, 12) and to make the spoons or sticks, —a station for removing spoons or sticks (5, 15), to remove and separate the spoons or sticks cut at the processing station (3, 4, 13, 14, 30) from the scrap, —a station for extracting the paper scrap (6, 16), to eliminate the residual scrap generated by the processing station (3, 4, 13, 14, 30), —a treatment station (7, 17), to apply a viscous liquid material based on silicon and hydroxy groups to the spoons or sticks, following the removal of the scrap (6, 16), to evenly coat the spoons or sticks, and—an oven (8, 18) to dry and crystallize the viscous liquid material and to realize the spoons or sticks.
Abstract:
A method for the three-dimensional shaping of flat material made from in particular, natural fibers, such as for example, paper or cardboard, using a deep-drawing piston and a die, through which or into which the material is drawn. The diameter of the deep-drawing piston plus the material thickness of the deep-drawn material corresponds at least approximately to the diameter of the die.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing a cushioning product (88), comprising the following steps: providing a flat, longitudinal, two- or multilayered paper strip (10), wherein the individual layers (12, 14) of the paper strip (10) are connected to one another in at least some sections in a middle area (18) extending in the longitudinal direction, and wherein the individual layers (12, 14) of the paper strip (10) comprise marginal areas (20, 21, 22, 23) which are not connected to one another, opening adjacent marginal areas (20, 21, 22, 23) to form a paper strip (10) having a star-shaped cross section, and crumpling the paper strip (10) along the middle area (18).
Abstract:
Systems and methods for producing pressware are provided. In one or more embodiments, a method for producing pressware can include producing a pressware product between an upper forming die and a lower forming die contained within a forming die assembly, retracting at least a portion of the upper forming die from the pressware product, and ejecting the pressware product from the lower forming die while feeding a web material between the upper forming die and the lower forming die. The method can also include cutting a segment of the web material to produce a substrate, and pressing the substrate between the upper forming die and the lower forming die to produce another pressware product.
Abstract:
A corrugated display sign with a former panel secured to a backer panel. The former panel includes a central section opposed by two lateral sections, two support members partially cut away from the central section and maintaining a connection with the central section via at least one fold line, and two or more preformed slots, with one slot positioned adjacent to the support members. The display sign further includes a graphic panel operable to be wrapped around exterior edges of the lateral sections, and having ends secured to the backer panel. The display sign is capable of being erected from a knockdown configuration to an erected configuration by folding the lateral sections away from the central section and wrapping the graphic panel about the lateral sections.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, an apparatus and a method of manufacturing a paperboard tray therewith is provided. In particular, a hub is configured to rotate about a shaft. On the hub, a plurality of first molds are formed in the hub. Conversely, a plurality of second molds are each disposed above each of the plurality of first molds respectively and rotate above the first molds. In this configuration, the plurality of second molds are configured to move in unison with the plurality of first molds as the hub and second molds rotate and to move orthogonally towards and then away from the first molds as the second molds rotate.
Abstract:
Systems for producing pressware are provided. In one or more embodiments, a system can include an upper moveable platen, a lower moveable platen, a stationary platen, a punch platen, and one or more forming die assemblies. The upper moveable platen and the punch platen can be disposed above the stationary platen and the lower moveable platen can be disposed below the stationary platen. The upper moveable platen, the punch platen, and the lower moveable platen can be configured to move toward and away from the stationary platen. Each forming die assembly can include a set of upper and lower forming dies. The upper and lower forming dies can be coupled to the upper and lower moveable platens, respectively, and configured to press substrates to form pressware products within passageways extending through the stationary platen.
Abstract:
This invention concerns a press and a method in particular for the forming of finished articles, such as containers or trays of paper and starting from a moisturized sheet. The press comprises a bedplate (18) having a fixed die holder plane (19) holding a head (20) with a moving die-holder plane (21) movable with regards to the fixed plane between an opening and a closing position. A lower die (22) is attached to the fixed die holder plane, whereas an upper die (23) is attached to the moving die-holder plane. The moving die-holder plane is powered by an electric actuator (29) for the opening and closing movements and the half-dies are provided with heating means for the drying and hardening of the paper in a set closed position. The moving die-holder plane can be slowed down or stopped during its stroke to allow for the drying of the paper.
