    摘要: On the driving and/or driven side of an infinitely variable cone pulley transmission the pulley discs are urged against a shoulder of the transmission shaft by the force of a helical coil spring exerted on the disc pair in axial direction. The annular surface of the shoulder which faces the cone discs and the annular surface of an extension of the hub of the cone disc which faces the shoulder are used as the bearing surfaces or races of a thrust bearing. The thrust bearing comprises roller elements mounted rotatably on a support ring and having the form of oblate spheroids. By this particular form the frictional sliding movement between the roller elements and the bearing surfaces, resulting from the wobble movement of the pulley disc, is turned into a purely rolling motion.

The brake includes a cylindrical portion integral with a pinion carrier of the planetary gear set. In mounting the component parts within a casing, a brake piston is inserted into the casing. Then, an assembly of the clutch, planetary gear set including the pinion carrier integral with the cylindrical portion and an input shaft is inserted into the casing. Then, a brake frictional plate assembly is engaged between the cylindrical portion and a cylindrical inner wall of the casing.

    摘要: A mechanically adjustable variable speed drive includes an electric actuation apparatus which can be controlled by an analog embodiment or a digital circuitry embodiment. A speed change actuator is automatically and mechanically adjustable, such as with a controlled servomotor. A tachometer determines the actual rotational speed of a drive shaft, which is compared in a digital controller with a manually set desired rotational output speed. The digital controller (or an analog circuit in the case of the analog embodiment) controls the servomotor to adjust the mechanically adjustable variable speed drive. An automatic deadband means inhibits driving of the servomotor whenever the tachometer signal and the desired speed setting signal is within a predetermined deadband, which deadband is adaptively changed responsive to various conditions. The rotational information, both desired and actual, may be displayed, with display of the desired speed prior to actual operation of the drive being used to accurately preset the desired speed.

The control valve is incorporated into the output shaft and is adapted to generate a pressure signal corresponding to the axial movement of the movable pulley flange of the secondary variable-pitch pulley and to feed the pressure signal to the regulator valve, whereby a pressure factor corresponding to the speed-change ratio of the belt drive continuously-variable speed transmission means is added to the working fluid flowing the pressurized fluid passages of the hydraulic control circuit.

    摘要: A hydraulic control system for a continuously variable transmission which has an input and an output variable-diameter pulley, a belt connecting the input and output pulleys, and a pair of cylinders for changing effective diameters of the pulleys. The control system includes a hydraulic source to supply a pressurized fluid for applying first and second line pressure to one and the other of the cylinders via a first and a second line, respectively. The control system comprises: a first regulator, connected to the first line, for regulating the first line pressure to be applied to the one cylinder, and thereby controlling a tension of the belt; a flow control device, disposed in the second line, for controlling flows of the fluid into and from the other cylinder, for controlling a speed ratio of the transmission; a second regulator, disposed between the hydraulic source and the first regulator, for controlling a rate of relief flow of the fluid therethrough from the second line into the first line, and thereby regulating the second line pressure which is higher than the first line pressure; and a controller for controlling the second regulator to regulate the second line pressure according to a predetermined condition.

A transmission ratio control valve is responsive to engine speed for controlling the oil and for shifting the disc of the primary pulley to change the transmission ratio, and a pressure regulator valve is responsive to the transmission ratio for increasing line pressure in the hydraulic circuit with an increase of the transmission ratio. A sensor is engaged with the disc of the primary pulley to be moved together with the disc so as to move a spool of the pressure regulator valve to increase the line pressure with an increase of engine speed.

    摘要: A speed change device comprises a hub, two annular pulley sides disposed around the hub and facing each other, one of the pulley sides being mounted for axial movement on the hub against the bias of a diaphragm spring and an additional coil spring. The diaphragm spring has a peripheral portion rockably axially bearing against the one pulley side and a central portion having a plurality of radial fingers separated by slots, rockably axially bearing against an abutment member fixed axially relative to the hub. The additional coil spring is disposed around the hub, and bears against a shoulder fixed axially relative to the movable pulley side and against the abutment member through a central portion of the diaphragm spring. An elastic spacer is axially interposed between the coil spring and the diaphragm spring. Another spacer of elastic material is axially interposed between the diaphragm spring and the abutment member. The elastic spacers are united with each other through the central opening and the slots between the radial fingers.

    摘要: A torque sensing variable diameter power transfer assembly is disclosed wherein the cam members are provided with an asymmetrical cam surface pattern having first and second cam surfaces meeting the base of the cam at different angles. The opposing first cam surfaces meet the corresponding base members at approximately 45.degree. and interengage to effectively transmit torque between the opposing cam members during normal operating conditions. The opposing second cam surfaces meet the corresponding case member at approximately 30.degree. and interengage to effectively transmit torque between the respective cam members during reverse power conditions, wherein the normally driven sheave temporarily becomes the drive sheave. The asymmetrical cam surfaces generally eliminate belt slippage during reverse power conditions and permit the engine to brake the power delivered by the normally driven sheave.
