    摘要: A primary air system for a combustion plant provides a flow of primary air to at least one coal pulverizer, which emits pulverized coal in a downstream direction to a furnace. The primary air system includes a first primary air line for feeding hot primary air to the coal pulverizer and a second primary air line for admixing of cold primary air into the hot primary air line at a mixing location positioned upstream of the coal pulverizer. A control system shuts off the flow of primary air to the coal pulverizer, when the coal pulverizer is being repaired or serviced while the furnace is in operation. The control system includes a first flow control butterfly valve disposed in the first primary air line at a position upstream of the mixing location and a second flow control butterfly valve disposed in the second primary air line at a position upstream of the mixing location. A shut-off butterfly valve, disposed in the primary air line intermediate the mixing location and the coal pulverizer, includes a tandem wing supported at a cental location and movable between an open position and a closed position. The tandem wing has parallel, first and second wings forming a space therebetween. A pressure relief line provides fluid communication with the space between the first and second wings when the tandem wing is in the closed position. A pressure relief butterfly valve is disposed in the pressure relief line.

The valve simultaneously controls both the supply of air to the premixer, and the amount of air directed into a large bypass duct. Air entering the bypass duct is reintroduced into the gas flowpath as dilution air downstream of the combustion zone. At low power settings the valve directs most of the air to the bypass duct, in effect bypassing the fixed area dilution ports, whereby the pressure drop across the combustor may be controlled at an optimal level.

    摘要: According to the present invention, a catalyst combustion apparatus includes a ring-shaped catalyst body for catalytically burning the mixture of the fuel and the air, which is disposed in a combustion cylinder. In the combustion cylinder, a fuel nozzle and an inlet for the air are disposed at one end side of the catalyst body, and the premixing chamber is formed at the other end side. The fuel and the air are supplied from one end side of the catalyst body through a through-hole formed at a center portion of the catalyst body and is mixed in the premixing chamber. In the premixing chamber, a flow direction of the mixture is turned toward the catalyst body. A part of the exhaust gas is introduced into the air at one end side. In this way, it is possible to simplify and downsize the combustion apparatus, while securing the preheating effect of the air by the circulation of the exhaust gas.

    摘要: An integral vent damper/hood apparatus for regulating draft in a flue of a hot water heater includes a damper support having a hemispherical dome, a congruent cylindrical portion with a plurality of openings therein for passage of flue gas therethrough, and a bottom support. A coaxial faceted guide is disposed between the hemispherical dome and the bottom support with a flue gas floatable damper disposed between the hemispherical dome and the bottom support and moveable along the coaxial faceted guide in response to flue gas exiting the hot water heater flue. The damper includes a coaxial circular aperture therein for enabling the movement of the damper along the faceted guide with contact occurring only at intersections of the guide facets. A hood is provided for conducting flue gas passing through said damper support into an exhaust flue along with a fixture for coaxially attaching the hood and damper support to the hot water heater flue.
