摘要: The present invention provides an image processing device, an image processing method, and an image reading method, by which encoded data can be easily generated from sub-sampled image data, without a complicated circuit or an increase in the data amount. A one-dimensional wavelet transform in a predetermined direction is omitted in stage 1, where components 1 and 2 of input image data have been sub-sampled. When coefficient data generated through such a two-dimensional wavelet transform are to be encoded, sub-bands that are not contained in the coefficient data in comparison with the coefficient data of a component 0 should be considered to have been truncated.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method and a corresponding device for determining nominal mechanical data for an electronic device by means of automatic image processing of a digital image of a specimen of said electronic device. In the method an object in said digital image, which object corresponds to said specimen, is identified and appearance data for the appearance of the identified object are determined. Then, at least some of the determined appearance data are compared with a stored set of nominal appearance data, which nominal appearance data are based on a priori knowledge of appearances of electronic devices, and at least some nominal appearance data of the set of nominal appearance data are selected. Finally, the nominal mechanical data of the electronic device is determined in accordance with the selected nominal appearance data and at least some of the determined appearance data.

摘要: An image processing apparatus and its method which easily change the definition of pixel attribute in an image processing unit even if the image processing unit has been realized by hardware such as a semiconductor integrated circuit. The image processing apparatus inputs image data and first pixel information indicating information on a pixel of the image data. A first selector 101 selects predetermined bits from the first pixel information and generates second pixel information. A second selector 103 selects one of the plural third pixel information stored in a register file 102 based on the second pixel information and outputs the selected third pixel information as fourth pixel information. A decoder 104 determines a pixel attribute based on the fourth pixel information. Then, image processing is performed on the image data based on the determined pixel attribute. At this time, the selection bits by the first selector and the data stored in the register file 102 are variable.

摘要: In the method, correlated achromatic single-plane images are subjected to a plurality of operations for segmenting them into uniform components on the basis of different criteria. The results of the various segmentation operations for each of the processed correlated images are analyzed in order to generate cores constituted by zones presenting high certainty as to the existence of objects. The resulting cores are compared and those zones which correspond to more than some determined threshold of the various cores are conserved as indicating the presence of an object. The previously processed images are subjected to a weighted summing operation in order to obtain a first result image containing the uniform component cores. The first result image is then subjected to coloring followed by binarization in order to obtain a second result image containing the uniform components, and the individualized objects are extracted from the image.

The apparatus can convert the transferred digital video signals to MPEG data and produce images of a high quality without frame drops without excessively occupying the disk space even when a low speed personal computer is used.
