An intermediate for the production of an HIV protease inhibitor can be produced from L-phenylalanine.

    摘要: The present invention provides a process for producing (R)-styrene oxides represented by the formula (1): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and X are as defined in the specification, which comprises treating a mixture of (R)- and (S)-phenylhalogenomethylcarbinols with a lipase in the presence of a carboxylate to preferentially convert the (S)-phenylhalogenomethylcarbinols, and treating a mixture of the formed carbinol alkylates (3) and (R)-phenylhalogenomethylcarbinols with a base to cyclize the (R)-phenylhalogenomethylcarbinols, and also provides an industrially excellent process for producing (R)-styrene oxides (1) which comprises using a mixture enriched with (R)-phenylhalogenomethylcarbinols as the mixture of (R)- and (S)-phenylhalogenomethylcarbinols (2).

According to the present invention, a sulfur-containing halohydrin compound is dripped into and reacted with a mixed solvent containing an organic solvent and a basic compound to provide the method for producing the sulfur-containing epoxy compound. According to aspects of the present invention, the organic solvent is at least one type of compound selected from toluene and benzene, the basic compound is at least one type of compound selected from sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and calcium hydroxide, and the reaction temperature is between −5° C. and 30° C.

The compound gives a compound excellent in regioselectivity at the time of hydrosilylation with a Si—H containing organosilicon compound, with a less formed amount of an internally added β adduct, as compared with the conventionally known fluorene compound having an allyl group, so that heat resistance of the resulting organosilicon compound is expected to be improved whereby it is a useful compound.

    摘要: A method of preparing a chlorohydrin composition and a method of preparing epichlorohydrin by using a chlorohydrin composition prepared by using the method are provided. The method of preparing a chlorohydrin composition in which a polyhydroxy aliphatic hydrocarbon is reacted with a chlorination agent in the presence of a catalyst includes performing at least one combination of a series of unit operations comprising a first reaction step, a water removal step, and a second reaction step in this stated order, wherein the method further includes mixing a chlorohydrin concentrate obtained by purifying the reaction mixture discharged from the final reaction step from among the plurality of reaction steps and a water-rich layer discharged from the water-removal step. The method of preparing epichlorohydrin includes contacting the chlorohydrin composition prepared by using the method of preparing a chlorohydrin composition with an alkaline agent.
