The system collects a transaction amount of the financial transaction associated with merchant identification information of the merchant system. The system sends an authentication request using a wireless communication protocol configured for proximity communication between a communication interface of a computer device and a wireless communication enabled integrated circuit (IC) chip of a payment card, the authorization request including an IC command expected by computer hardware of the IC chip. The system receives an authentication response from the computer hardware of the IC chip by the wireless communication protocol, the authentication response including an encrypted value generated by the computer hardware of the IC chip.

    摘要: Techniques are disclosed for enabling more efficient tipping by providing a merchant the ability to reduce the time used on manually entering tip amounts. In one embodiment, a method includes automatically generating, by a point-of-sale (POS) system, a transaction receipt that indicates a plurality of selectable tip options, wherein said automatically generating the transaction receipt is based on one or more rules specified by a user of the POS system. The method further includes causing the transaction receipt to be printed as a printed receipt. The method further includes identifying, by the POS system, a one of the plurality of selectable tip options specified by a customer on the printed receipt. Among other benefits, the disclosed techniques reduce the time and effort the merchant needs to spend on collating the tipping at end of the business day.

The coded instructions present an invitation on the display to the patron to enter a payment.

    摘要: A checkout station for a retail store is configurable between an employee-assisted mode and a self-service mode. In the employee-assisted mode, the checkout station is positioned on a checkout lane and a merchant operates the checkout station to checkout a customer from the store. In the self-service mode, the checkout station is positioned on the opposite side of the checkout lane and the customer performs the checkout functions with little or no help from the merchant. A motor in the checkout station is controlled to move the entire checkout station laterally across the checkout lane in response to receiving reconfiguration commands from the merchant. The reconfiguration commands may also control the checkout station to raise or lower its vertical height.
