Abstract:
Embodiments are related to processing of a source video stream for generation of a target video stream that includes an object of interest to a viewer. In some embodiments, the target video stream may exclusively or primarily include the performance of the object of interest to the viewer, without including other persons in that video. This allows a viewer to focus on an object of his or her interest and not necessarily have to view the performances of other objects in the source video stream.
Abstract:
Various arrangements are presented for cleaning and sorting smartcards. An identifier present on the exterior of the smartcard may be scanned. A smartcard may be dispensed from an intake magazine that housing a plurality of smartcards. The smartcard may be moved along a cleaning assembly. The contacts of the smartcard may be cleaned. The contacts of the smartcard may be dried. After cleaning and drying the contacts of the smartcard, the smartcard may be sorted into either a cleaned output magazine or a cleaned rejection tray based on whether the scanning of the identifier was successfully performed.
Abstract:
Embodiments detailed herein can include performing an initial calibration that maps each optical character of the plurality of optical characters visible in a field-of-view of a digital camera of a wide-area parking space monitoring system with corresponding parking spaces. The digital camera of the system may capture an image facing downward toward the parking spaces. The system may identify one or more optical characters that are visible within the image. The system may determine one or more parking spaces of the plurality of parking spaces that are mapped to the identified one or more optical characters, The system may output an indication of the determined one or more parking spaces that indicates the one or more parking spaces are available.
Abstract:
A device is provided for mounting an object to a base. The device includes a lattice having a first number of rails orientated along a first direction coupled to a second number of rails orientated along a second direction. The device includes a first region with mount holes configured to attach the object to the lattice. The device also includes a second region configured to attach to the base. The device also includes fasteners configured to rotatably couple the first number of rails to the second number of rails at intersections of the first number of rails and the second number of rails such that the device is foldable.

Abstract:
Devices, systems and methods for authenticating a user to access electronic content include use of a processor configured to identify a technical condition for the content, access distributor logic providing a first release of the technical condition, receive a request from a subscriber to transfer the first release to an identified user, determine whether to approve or deny the request, and when approved, provide a device associated with the identified user with an authentication that permits the identified user to activate the first release and access the electronic content, and a database that stores the technical condition.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are described for presenting a television program to a viewer using a mobile television receiver. The television program is received at the mobile television receiver via a first signal transmitted by a signal source having a limited range. It is determined whether the mobile receiver will exit the limited range of the signal source and, before the mobile receiver exits the limited range of the signal source, an action is facilitated to allow the viewer to continue to view the television program. Actions that may be facilitated include tuning to an alternate source of the television program, obtaining a placeshifted media stream of the television program, recording the television program on a remote video recorder, or simply notifying the viewer that he or she is about to exit the limited range of the signal source.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of the apparatus and/or methods are described for routing power to a wall-mounted appliance, particularly for routing electrical wiring and audio/video cabling up through a wall to power and communicate with a wall-mounted presentation device. The apparatus and systems include input and output enclosures with wiring therebetween and mechanisms for mounting the input and output enclosures adjacent to pre-cut wall openings. There exists at least one electrical input connector, disposed within the input enclosure, configured to electrically couple with a power source, and at least one electrical output connector, disposed within the output enclosure, configured to electrically couple with a wall-mounted appliance.
Abstract:
Various arrangements for testing video decoder device functionality are presented. A video frame decoded by a video decoder device under test may be received. The received video frame may be segmented into a plurality of blocks. A first value may be calculated for a first block of the plurality of blocks of the received video frame using pixel values of pixels present within the first block. The first value may be compared to a first reference value. The first reference value may correspond to a first reference block of one or more reference frames. Video decoder functionality of the video decoder device may be determined to be functional at least partially based on comparing the first value to the first reference value.
Abstract:
Systems and methods of managing network connections are disclosed. The method includes receiving a communication from a media device that requests permission to allow a connection between the media device and a client device, processing the communication by querying at least one database with the identifying information for the client device, if a unique identifier for the client device is received from the database, comparing the unique identifier for the client device with a unique identifier for the media device, in the event that the unique identifier for the client device matches the unique identifier for the media device, returning a result to the media device that allows the connection between the media device and the client device, and in the event that the unique identifier for the client device does not match the unique identifier for the media device, returning a result to the media device that does not allow the connection between the media device and the client device.
