Abstract: A device for detecting the concentration of biological materials is formed in a body having a plurality of fluidic paths connectable to a multi-microbalance structure carrying a plurality of microbalances, each microbalance having a sensitive portion facing a reaction chamber. The body and the multi-microbalance structure are configured to be mechanically coupled together and each microbalance is configured to be coupled to a respective fluidic path. Each fluidic path includes an inlet, a duct and a liquid waste, each duct being configured to be coupled with a respective reaction chamber. The plurality of fluidic paths and microbalances form at least one first and one second reference cells and one first sample cell.

Abstract: A manufacturing method of an electronic device includes: forming a drift layer of an N type; forming a trench in the drift layer; forming an edge-termination structure alongside the trench by implanting dopant species of a P type; and forming a depression region between the trench and the edge-termination structure by digging the drift layer. The steps of forming the depression region and the trench are carried out at the same time. The step of forming the depression region comprises patterning the drift layer to form a structural connection with the edge-termination structure having a first slope, and the step of forming the trench comprises etching the drift layer to define side walls of the trench, which have a second slope steeper than the first slope.

A time for which no current-limit events have been detected is sensed, and the value of the compensation voltage adjusted in response to the detected time reaching a time step threshold.

Abstract: An integrated MEMS structure includes a driving assembly anchored to a substrate and actuated with a driving movement. A pair of sensing masses suspended above the substrate and coupled to the driving assembly via elastic elements is fixed in the driving movement and performs a movement along a first direction of detection, in response to an external stress. A coupling assembly couples the pair of sensing masses mechanically to couple the vibration modes. The coupling assembly is formed by a rigid element, which connects the sensing masses and has a point of constraint in an intermediate position between the sensing masses, and elastic coupling elements for coupling the rigid element to the sensing masses to present a first stiffness to a movement in phase-opposition and a second stiffness, greater than the first, to a movement in phase, of the sensing masses along the direction of detection.

Abstract: A micro-electro-mechanical actuator device includes a fixed structure and a mobile structure. The mobile structure includes a first deformable band, a second deformable band, and a third deformable band, both of which extend on opposite sides of the first deformable band, each of which carries a piezoelectric actuator. In a working condition, in which the second and third piezoelectrics are biased, the second and third deformable bands are subjected to a negative bending, while the first deformable band is subjected to a positive bending. There are thus generated two translations that add together, causing a displacement of the first deformable band greater than the one that may be obtained by a single membrane of an equal base area.

Abstract: In order to manufacture a packaged device, a die having a sensitive region is bonded to a support, and a packaging mass of moldable material is molded on the support so as to surround the die. During molding of the packaging mass, a chamber is formed, which faces the sensitive region and is connected to the outside environment. To this end, a sacrificial mass of material that may evaporate/sublimate is dispensed on the sensitive region; the packaging mass is molded on the sacrificial mass; a through hole is formed in the packaging mass to extend as far as the sacrificial mass; the sacrificial mass is evaporated/sublimated through the hole.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a laser projection system including a laser projector emitting a laser beam, a movable mirror apparatus reflecting the laser beam toward a surface, and a graphics processing unit (GPU). The GPU is configured to receive video data, estimate a varying speed of movement of the movable mirror apparatus for different positions of the laser beam across the surface, and process the video data based upon the estimated varying speed of movement. An application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) receives the processed video data, and to generate a beam position control signal based upon required or desired movement of the movable mirror apparatus. A laser driver controls the laser projector as a function of the processed video data, and a mirror controller controls the movable mirror apparatus as a function of the beam position control signal.

Abstract: A method can be used for testing a charge-retention circuit for measurement of a time interval having a storage capacitor coupled between a first biasing terminal and a floating node, and a discharge element coupled between the floating node and a reference terminal. The discharge element is configured to implement discharge of a charge stored in the storage capacitor by leakage through a corresponding dielectric. The method includes biasing the floating node at a reading voltage, detecting a biasing value of the reading voltage, implementing an operation of integration of the discharge current in the discharge element with the reading voltage kept constant at the biasing value, and determining an effective resistance value of the discharge element as a function of the operation of integration.
