    Abstract: An apparatus and method for producing a coated analytic substrate using a compact and portable automated instrument located in the laboratory setting at the point of use which can consistently produce one or a plurality of coated analytic substrates “on demand” for using the analytic substrate immediately after coating, preferably without a step of rinsing the coated analytic substrate before use. The apparatus preferably uses applicator cartridges having a reservoir containing the coating compositions used to form the coatings. Preferably the cartridges are removable and interchangeable to facilitate the production of individual analytic substrates having different coatings or different coating patterns. These coated analytic substrates have superior specimen adhesion characteristics due to the improved quality of the coatings applied by the coating apparatus and due to the quickness with which the coated analytic substrates can be used in the lab after production.

    Abstract: A fingerprint identification system comprising a smart device, a fingerprint scanner, a processor coupled to a transceiver and to the fingerprint scanner, and a digital storage element coupled to the processor. The digital storage element stores logic that causes the processor to: activate the fingerprint scanner to scan a user's finger, identify a feature and multiple minutia of the user's fingerprint, and generate a digital fingerprint string(s) indicative of a position of each minutia relative to the feature. The processor is then caused to combine the digital fingerprint string(s) with a first cryptographic salt to generate a first hash. The first hash is compared to a first hash signature to determine if the first hash represents an authentic fingerprint. If authentic, the processor combines the digital fingerprint string(s) with a second cryptographic salt to generate a second hash. This second hash is transmitted to one or more servers.

    Abstract: The present disclosure describes a method of integrating information, including real-time information, into a virtual thematic environment using a computer system, including accessing the stored information from a database or downloading the real-time information from a source external to the thematic environment; inserting the real-time information into the thematic environment; and displaying the information to a user within the thematic environment. In one embodiment, the computer system is connected to a holographic projection system such that the images from the thematic environment can be projected as holographic projections. The computer system includes an interactive software application platform having at least one thematic/publishing logic module which contains thematic environment rules; and at least one quantum imaging environment (QIE) module which interprets content such that the content is manipulated and accessed by any device.

The hydraulic lift pump system includes a source of fluid, a tubing string extending from the surface and in fluid communication with the source of fluid, a first pump interposed in the tubing string so the first pump is positioned below the surface and operably arranged to draw fluid from the tubing string upstream of the first pump and to discharge the fluid into the tubing string downstream of the first pump as a power fluid, and a second pump interposed in the tubing string and operably arranged to receive the power fluid from the first pump and be combined with a production fluid to form a return fluid to be discharged into the annulus.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to planar electrochemical sensors with membrane coatings used to perform chemical analyses. The object of this invention is to provide unit-use disposable sensors of very simple and inexpensive construction, preferably with only a single membrane coating on an electrode. The invented devices are potentiometric salt-bridge reference electrodes and dissolved gas sensors constructed with a heterogeneous membrane coating of a conductor. The heterogeneous membrane, which is an intimate admixture of a hydrophobic and a hydrophilic compartment, concurrently supports constrained transport of non-volatile species through its hydrophilic compartment and rapid gas and water vapor transport through its hydrophobic compartment.
