Abstract:
A front-end gateway unit is designed for integration to a remote ecological environment monitoring system that is equipped with a wireless sensor network (WSN) system installed at a remote site, such as a farmland or a garden, for the purpose of allowing the WSN system to exchange data with a back-end host server via a wireless communication system. The front-end gateway unit is characterized by the capability of using either the WSN system or a built-in sensing module for collecting ecological data, and the capability of combining geographical location data in the ecological data. This feature allows the collection of a comprehensive set of ecological data (including geographical location, temperature, humidity, sunlight data, wind speed, and pest number) for transfer to the back-end host server, such that research/management personnel at the local site can conveniently browse these ecological data and learn the ecological conditions of the remotely monitored area.
Abstract:
An outlet of a spigot has a bottom seat, a neck, a head and a flow passage. The bottom seat has a bottom face. The neck is formed on and protrudes upward from the bottom seat. The head is formed on and protrudes forward from the neck and has a bottom side. The flow passage is formed in the outlet between the bottom seat, the neck and the head and has at least one inlet hole and an outlet hole. The inlet hole is formed through the bottom face of the bottom seat and communicates with the flow passage. The outlet hole is U-shaped, is formed in the head opposite to the neck and communicates with the flow passage.
Abstract:
Some embodiments regard a method comprising: generating a current according to a movement of the MEMS device; the movement is controlled by a control signal; generating a peak voltage according to the current; and adjusting the control signal when the peak voltage is out of a predetermined range.
Abstract:
A phantom manufacturing method is disclosed, which comprises the steps of: disposing an exudate network with interconnecting first channel and second channel in a container in a manner that the first channel is transversely disposed for an exudate to flow laterally in the container and the top portion of the second channel is longitudinally disposed for the exudate to flow vertically in the container; forming a plurality of stacking solid layers while arranging the first channel at the bottommost solid layer and the top of the second channel at either inside the topmost solid layer or to be exposed outside the top of the topmost solid layer as the bottom of the second channel is connected to the first channel and extending therefrom upward to the topmost solid layer; and forming a recess in the topmost solid layer while connecting the bottom thereof to the second channel.
Abstract:
A photo-sensing LCD touch device with a light guide plate is provided. The light guide plate is disposed in an LCD touch panel, and a light source is disposed on one side of the light guide plate to provide lights into the light guide plate, yielding an occurrence of total reflection of the lights in the light guide plate. When a touch object touches the light guide plate, the total reflection of the lights would be decomposed so that the lights are emitted out of the light guide plate. Therefore, a photo-sensor can detect a variance of a photo-current of the scattered lights to accurately determine a touched position. Accordingly, the LCD touch device would not rely on ambient light and can avoid a drawback of an undesirable shadow.
Abstract:
This invention provides a power supply comprising a mother board, a first socket, and a DC-DC converter module. The mother board comprises a transformer operative for transforming an input power into a first AC output power and a filter operative for receiving the first AC output power and filtering the first AC output power into a first DC output power. The first socket is mounted on the mother board and electrically coupled to a circuitry of the mother board by way of at least one conductor terminal operative for providing the first DC output power. The DC-DC converter module mounted on a printed circuit board electrically coupled to the mother board comprises a DC-DC converter operative for receiving the first DC output power and converting the first DC output power into a second DC output power and a third DC output power and a second socket operative for providing the second DC output power and the third DC output power by means of a conductive path of the printed circuit board. There are several advantages including the reduction of the use of the conductive wires, the improvement of the efficiency of the power supply, the simplicity of the circuitry of the power supply, and the easy replacement of the broken component because the DC-DC converter module is mounted on an individual printed circuit board different from the mother board.
Abstract:
A radio-frequency connector consisting of a socket member and a plug member electrically connectable to the socket member is disclosed. The socket member or plug member has an impedance element mounted therein such that the impedance element is electrically connected to the metal casing and metal center pin of the socket member or plug member that carries the impedance element when the plug member is disconnected from the socket member, causing the impedance element to provide a terminal effect to insolate external electromagnetic noises; the impedance element is separated from the metal casing and metal center pin of the socket member or plug member that carries impedance element when the plug member is connected to the socket member.
Abstract:
A memory management method includes fetching data corresponding to a plurality of image blocks, including at least two image blocks with different block sizes; and utilizing a memory device having a plurality of memory banks for storing the data corresponding to the plurality of image blocks. The memory management method and a related memory apparatus can make the memory device buffer motion blocks of variable sizes in an efficient way.
Abstract:
A system and method for balancing a battery pack is disclosed. The method includes the step of monitoring voltages for all batteries in the battery pack and if the voltages of any two batteries are out of balance, then, issuing a balancing command to charge the battery that is relatively lower in voltage between the two until the voltage of the battery attaining a preset voltage. The battery-pack balancing system includes a battery-monitoring unit and a battery-balancing unit. The battery-monitoring unit monitors the voltage of all the batteries in the battery pack and, when the voltages of any of the two batteries in the battery pack is out of balance, issues a balancing command to charge the battery that is relatively lower voltage in the battery pack.
Abstract:
A signal shielding box with a plurality of shielding covers is provided. The shielding covers are pivotally connected with a shielding case and cover one another so as to respectively conceal or expose the opening. A connector is positioned at the shielding case and is electrically connected with the wireless communication device within the shielding case. The connector is electrically connected with a measurement and analysis device out of the shielding case. The shielding covers are respectively opened and closed so as to expose and conceal the opening. Thus, a plurality of shielding effects are formed so as to shield and measure signals of the wireless communication device.
