Abstract:
A mobile communication device is equipped with a dynamic local directory into which contact information from a local telephone directory may be downloaded on a temporary basis. The local telephone directory resides on a local communication network and may be accessed by the mobile communication device. The downloaded data is purged automatically after preset limits are reached. The dynamic local telephone directory on the mobile communication device is continuously changing depending on the location.
Abstract:
The object of the invention is a system, a device, a terminal and a method for filtering electronic information to be transferred to the terminal through a telecommunication connection. The invention comprises attaching a specific filtering parameter (30-32) by the device transferring the electronic information to the electronic information for the purpose of filtering before the electronic information is transferred to the terminal through the telecommunication connection, and informing the terminal of said filtering parameter (30-32) before the electronic information is transferred to the terminal through the telecommunication connection. In the terminal, the steps comprise checking said informed filtering parameter (30-32) and allowing or preventing the receiving of the electronic information on the basis of said filtering parameter (30-32). In response to said allowing of the receiving, the electronic information is transferred to the terminal through the telecommunication connection, and in response to said preventing of the receiving, the electronic information is not transferred to the terminal through the telecommunication connection.
Abstract:
An apparatus for providing motion estimation for video encoding includes a selection element and a processing element. The selection element is configured to select a subset including less than all of candidate pixel locations from among a plurality of candidate pixel locations used for motion vector determination based on a relationship between a best candidate pixel location of a first level of accuracy and a best candidate pixel location of a second level of accuracy. The processing element is configured to process an input video sequence to determine a motion vector at the first level of accuracy, to refine the motion vector at the second level of accuracy, and to determine the motion vector at a third level of accuracy using only the subset of candidate pixel locations.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for generating and utilizing a user pattern profile. In this regard, the user pattern profile can include information regarding service selections made on a user node and movements of a user. The generated user pattern profile can compared to a threshold profile, and based on the results of the comparison, an action can be undertaken.
Abstract:
A system, method and computer program product are provided for delivering media content. The system includes at least one recipient that may be associated with at least one recipient rule. The system also includes a sending entity capable of transmitting a multimedia message addressed to the recipients. The sending entity can also specify delivery rules in the message. In this regard, the multimedia message includes media content. The system further includes a network entity capable of receiving the multimedia message and identifying any recipient rules, sending entity rules and/or network rules associated with the multimedia message. The network entity can then deliver the media content to the recipients based upon respective rules. The network entity can also be capable of processing the media content based upon the rules before delivering the media content, such as by transcoding or truncating at least a portion of the media content prior to delivery.
Abstract:
A system, apparatus and method for visualizing threaded communication across multiple communication channels using a Mobile Web Server. A Mobile Web Server enables access to the messages received on a wireless communication device from the Internet using any web browser. Messages belonging to the same conversation, even if received on multiple communication channels (SMS, MMS, email, IM, Bluetooth, etc.), may be displayed in a threaded fashion. Once displayed on the web browser, a user may then view, create, edit, send, receive and filter the messages according to sender, receiver, time ranges, keyword/content, etc. A user does not have to be in physical possession of his or her wireless communication device to access received messages. Rather, one advantage of the invention is to allow a user to access messages on the wireless communication device where the user has forgotten the wireless communication device or spends most of his or her time in front of a personal computer in a location remote from the wireless communication device.
Abstract:
A method and an electronic device arranged to execute application programs, wherein the device comprises an operating system enabling a separation of user interface data from the rest of the data processing system, the device being arranged to check, in response to starting an execution of the application program, whether screen size information of the application program corresponds to a display size of the terminal; and download, in response to the screen size of the application program differing from the display size of the terminal, a new user interface file with an appropriate screen size from a network server.
Abstract:
A method includes sending a message from a first to at least one second cognitive radio apparatus to determine a channel to be used for sending data from the first to the second radio apparatus, the message sent over a first channel and comprising an advertisement of at least one second channel for use in sending the data from the first to the second radio apparatus, the advertisement comprising a corresponding proposition/evaluation bit for each second channel, receiving a reply from the second radio apparatus over the first channel, comprising an acceptance of one of the second channels with the corresponding proposition/evaluation bit, a rejection of the second channel and an advertisement of a third channel, or a rejection of the second channel without an advertisement of a third channel, and transmitting the data from the first to the second radio apparatus over an agreed upon second or third channel.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an electronic device, which includes a display component, in which at least one controllable element is arranged to be visualized in its entirety, the control of which element is arranged to be based on determining a change (M) relating to the attitude or position of the device and camera means arranged to form image frames (IMAGE1, IMAGE2), and in which, in order to control the functions of the device, such as, for example, to control the element, the change is arranged to be determined, using optical data-flow algorithms, from the image frames formed by the camera means, which image frames are arranged to be compared to each other in a set manner, and on the basis of which comparison the said change is arranged to be determined. The image frames are arranged to be segmented in a selected manner, from which at least one movement vector (SR, SL, SUp, SDown) determining the said change is arranged to be determined from at least some of the segments (SEGMENT1, SEGMENT2).
Abstract:
A method to control cell selection and/or re-selection in a communication system comprising a plurality of cells with which terminal devices may communicate, the method including the steps of: determining that a terminal device is to start a session for a certain service, the service using a reception frequency; based on that determination, changing at least one cell selection and/or re-selection parameter in respect of the terminal device with the effect that a subsequent cell selection and/or re-selection performed by the device would favor cells that use the reception frequency used in the service session over other cells.
