Abstract:
A dental implant system having a dental implant, an abutment and a threaded screw is provided. The abutment has a guiding and lock structure and the dental implant has a complementary guiding and lock structure, for associating the abutment to the dental implant, with each guiding and lock structure having an anti-rotational structure. Threaded engagement of the threaded screw to a threaded section of the dental implant is not possible, when the anti-rotational structure of the abutment is held in an intermediate position on the anti-rotational structure of the dental implant, which intermediate position is a position where the longitudinal axes of the guiding and lock structures of the abutment and of the dental implant are coaxial with one another.
Abstract:
A process for providing a topography to the surface of a dental implant, the surface being made of a ceramic material having yttria-stabilized zirconia, the process including: providing a macroscopic roughness to the surface of the dental implant by a mechanical process and/or injection molding technique; and etching at least a part of the roughened surface, wherein etching is carried out using an etching solution having hydrofluoric acid at a temperature of 70° C. at least, such that discrete grains or agglomerates of grains are removed from the yttria-stabilized zirconia, thereby forming recesses and cavities in the roughened surface is disclosed.
Abstract:
Body made of a ceramic material, the body having as an integral part thereof a surface region reaching from the surface of the body down to a predetermined depth. According to the invention, the surface region is enriched with a calcium component thereby forming a hydrophilic surface area.
Abstract:
An inlay for connection to a dental implant, including implant connection geometry, for connecting the inlay to the implant and, coronal of the implant connection geometry, a post portion extending along a longitudinal axis, the post portion having a circular symmetric external surface and including at least one protrusion extending radially beyond said external surface, wherein the post portion further includes longitudinally extending grooves which extend radially inward of said external surface and are located directly adjacent to and on either side of the at least one protrusion such that the proximal end of said at least one protrusion is located radially inward of said external surface. The inlay is used in combination with an overlay including an accommodation cavity for housing the post portion of the inlay, the accommodation cavity having a circular symmetric cavity wall and at least one groove dimensioned such that the one or more protrusion of the inlay can be housed in the one or more groove of the overlay in order to inhibit relative rotation between the components.
Abstract:
An improved fixing pin support for a dental prosthesis in order to be able to connect the dental prosthesis to a jaw by means of fixing pins which can each be moved through a guide bore in the fixing pin support. The improved fixing pin support has a guide sleeve separate from it which can be temporarily fitted over the fixing pin support so that the guide bore can be formed in the fixing pin support through a guide channel in the guide sleeve, by precise guidance of a drill. After this, the guide sleeve can be removed from the fixing pin support.
Abstract:
A body made of titanium or a titanium alloy having a topography for improved blood coagulation and/or cell attachment. The body is obtainable by a process that includes the subsequent steps of: a) etching at least a portion of the surface of the body with a first etching solution including a mineral acid, and b) etching the surface etched under a) with a second etching solution different than the first etching solution, the second etching solution including hydrofluoric acid.
Abstract:
A dental implant with an implant extension that are formed along a longitudinal axis. The dental implant has apical and coronal ends and a section for receiving and securing an abutment. The implant extension is formed in one piece with the implant and extends away from an end face of the apical end along the longitudinal axis. The implant extension has a first section along the longitudinal axis with an annular constriction directly connected to the apical end face of the implant. The implant breaks off from the implant extension at the constriction. The second section and splined shaft section are arranged along the longitudinal axis following the first section so as to be further away from the implant than the first section. The second section includes an outer annular groove that is designed to be clamped in the direction of the longitudinal axis to hold the implant extension.

Abstract:
Two part implant for attachment of artificial teeth comprising a base body having a bone contact surface and a soft tissue contact surface. The soft tissue contact surface is at least partially hydroxylated or silanated which results in an improved soft tissue integration.
