摘要： A cylindrical secondary battery includes an electrode assembly, a can having a cylindrical shape accommodating the electrode assembly, and a cap assembly coupled to the can, electrically connected to the electrode assembly, and insulated from the can. The cap assembly includes a cap-up exposed to the outside, a cap-down supporting the cap-up, and an insulator made of an insulating material between the cap-up and the cap-down. The cap-up includes piercing holes and bridges between the piercing holes. The bridges have different angles or widths between both ends. A compressive strength of the cap-up can be adjusted by controlling an angle, width, and number of main bridges and sub-bridges of the cap-up. The piercing holes and the sub-bridges enable gas to be discharged from the secondary battery.

The first cap plate is electrically connected to the battery cell and has one of a negative polarity or a positive polarity, and the second cap plate is electrically connected to the battery cell and has the other one of a negative polarity and a positive polarity.
