Abstract: A cylindrical secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly including a first electrode plate, a separator, and a second electrode plate; a cylindrical case accommodating the electrode assembly and electrically connected to the second electrode plate; a terminal coupled to a lower surface of the case through a first gasket and electrically connected to the first electrode plate; a cap plate sealing the upper end of the case; and a second gasket between the case and the cap plate, the second gasket having: a sidewall portion in close contact with a side surface of the case; and a bottom portion extending inwardly from a bottom end of the sidewall portion and having at least one opening formed therein. The bottom portion of the second gasket having flange parts extending from the sidewall portion in an edge region and a bridge part connecting the flange parts to each other.

Abstract: A brimless cylindrical battery structure, comprising a combination cover with a pressure relief structure, a bottom cover, a roll core with single or multiple tabs at both ends, and a shell used as a roll core storage container, a combination cover, and a welding carrier for the bottom cover; the roll core is put into the shell; the positive tab of the roll core is connected to the combination cover, and the negative tab of the roll core is connected to the bottom cover; the combination cover forms the positive pole accordingly, and the bottom cover forms the negative pole accordingly; the combination cover and the bottom cover are sealed and installed on both sides of the shell. The invention has high consistency in appearance and size, higher safety performance and higher capacity battery to increase customer experience.

Abstract: In the electrode assembly, the first uncoated portion provided at a long side end of a first electrode includes a segment region divided into a plurality of independently bendable segments by a plurality of cut grooves provided along a winding direction. The segment region includes a plurality of segment groups disposed with a group separation pitch along the winding direction. The terminal plate includes: a flange portion coupled to and electrically insulated from the cap plate; and a tab connecting portion protruding from the flange portion toward the electrode assembly and extending through a terminal opening in the cap plate to be coupled to the second electrode tab. The terminal plate has a flat outer surface, and the tab connecting portion has a flat inner surface.

Abstract: A case-neutral electrochemical cell has an electrode assembly comprising a separator positioned between an anode and a cathode housed inside a casing. The casing supports a co-axial glass-to-metal seal comprising an inner insulating glass hermetically sealed to a terminal pin and to the inner annular surface of an inner ferrule. An outer insulating glass is hermetically sealed to the outer annular surface of the inner ferrule and the inner annular surface of an outer ferrule, and the outer ferrule is secured to an opening in the casing. Then, one of the anode and the cathode is connected to the terminal pin and the other of the anode and the cathole is connected to the first or inner ferrule. An electrolyte is provided in the casing to activate the electrode assembly.
