Abstract:
An extract prepared from the root barks of Morus australis Poir. and its use as an anti-bacteria agent, and use of a compound Kuwanon H having the following formula (I) separated from the extract as an anti-bacteria agent:
Abstract:
The invention provides methods and compositions for identifying agents which modulate cell death, indicated e.g. by the expression of caspase-2 and/or caspase-7, in GDNF family growth factor deprived neuronal or nonneuronal cells. The methods for identifying such agents find particular application in drug development.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a soluble polythiophene derivative containing highly coplanar repeating units. The coplanar characteristic of the TPT (thiophene-phenylene-thiophene) units improves the degree of intramolecular conjugation and intermolecular π-π interaction. The polythiophene derivative exhibits good carrier mobility and is suitable for use in optoelectronic devices such as organic thin film transistors (OTFTs), organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), and organic solar cells (OSCs).
Abstract:
A memory chip and method for operating the same are provided. The memory chip includes a number of pads. The method includes inputting a number of first test signals to the pads respectively, wherein the first test signals corresponding to two physically-adjacent pads are complementary; inputting a number of second test signals, respectively successive to the first test signals, to the pads, wherein the first test signal and the second test signal corresponding to each of the pads are complementary; and outputting expected data from the memory chip if the first test signals and the second test signals are successfully received by the memory chip.
Abstract:
An automobile steering wheel lock includes a foundation base with a lock holder, an insert slot formed between the foundation base and the lock holder. The foundation base has its underside secured with a baffle plate having its front portion formed with a clasping recess. The lock holder is disposed with an accommodating chamber received therein with a push-in lock provided with an engage pin and a spring, and the engage pin can be pressed to extend in the insert slot. A resisting rod is fixed with a positioning insert bar to be inserted in the insert slot. The positioning insert bar is bored with at least one pin hole for an engage pin to be inserted therein and has one side provided with a lengthwise slide recess, and a fixing pin is inserted through the accommodating chamber and fixed in the slide recess of the positioning insert bar.

An automobile steering wheel lock includes a foundation base provided with an insert slot at its front end and an accommodating chamber therein with a push-in lock having an engage pin and a spring. The push-in lock is pressed to insert the engage pin in the insert hole of the foundation base. The foundation base has its lower side fixed with a clasping member having its upper end disposed with a positioning insert rod and its lower end formed with a retaining member. The positioning insert rod inserted in the insert slot has at least one pin hole for the engage pin to be inserted therethrough, having one side provided with a slide recess. A fixing pin is inserted through the accommodating chamber and fixed in the slide recess to position the positioning insert rod in the insert slot for preventing the clasping member from slipping off the foundation base.
Abstract:
A flash based device in configured for soft programming to correct for over-erase effect; however, the soft programming current is limited so as not to exceed the current that can be supplied during soft programming. Additionally, the voltage on the source node of each cell on the flash based device is maintained at a non-zero level, in order to allow for the use of a higher word line voltage, but help prevent an over soft programming effect.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to compositions related to a polynucleotide encoding a transient receptor potential cation gene. Also disclosed is the use of this polynucleotide, its homologs, fragments, variants and its resultant polypeptides in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disease, particularly idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (IPAH). This invention also teaches the use of these polynucleotides and polypeptides as assays for drug discovery and therapies.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method to determine the amount of misalignment between a chip carrier and socket by the use of an inspection master. The inspection master is tailored to the perimeter size of the chip carrier and contains alignment marks on the same array as the electrical contact pads of the chip carrier. The inspection master allows bad sockets to be screened out prior to use on a chip carrier and also provides a quantified characterization of the socket array positional error which can be used to adjust the socket fabrication process.
Abstract:
Non-volatile memory circuits according to the present invention provide a reference memory having multiple reference cells that are shared among a group of sense amplifiers through an interconnect conductor line. The higher number of reference cells for each reference memory generates a greater amount of electrical current for charging multiple source lines. The multiple source lines are coupled to the interconnect conductor bar for capacitance matching with a source line coupled to a memory cell in a main memory array. After a silicon wafer out, measurements to the capacitance produced by the source line in the main memory array and the capacitance produced by the source line in the reference array are taken for an optional trimming. A further calibration in capacitance matching is achieved by trimming one of the source lines that is coupled to the interconnect conductor bar and the reference memory, either by cutting a portion of the source line or adding a portion to the source line.
