    摘要: A self-driven centrifuge for separating particulate matter out of a circulating liquid includes a base having a pair of tangential jet nozzles for generating the self-driven force. Connected to the base is a centrifuge shell which defines a hollow interior space. A disposable liner is positioned within the centrifuge shell. A hollow rotor hub is assembled to the base and extends through the hollow interior space. A support plate is positioned within the hollow interior space and, in cooperation with the rotor hub, defines an annular flow exit. Positioned within the hollow interior space is a unitary separation vane module which is constructed and arranged so as to extend around the rotor hub. The separation vane module includes a plurality of axially-extending and spaced-apart separation vanes. In one embodiment the vane module and a liner shell are formed as a unitary component.

    摘要: A centrifuge includes a shaft and a center tube. The shaft has a single flow passage from which fluid is supplied and has one or more fluid ports defined therein. The center tube has two sets of openings defined therein. A portion of the fluid in the centrifuge is directed to bypass the cleaning operation and is directly used to drive the centrifuge. The remaining fluid flows through the centrifuge and particulate matter is removed from the liquid. The fluid is then discharged through the nozzles in order to rotate the centrifuge.

    摘要: A bypass circuit centrifuge for separating particulate matter out of a circulating liquid includes a hollow and generally cylindrical centrifuge bowl which is arranged in combination with a base plate so as to define a liquid flow chamber. A hollow centertube axially extends up through the base plate into the hollow interior of the centrifuge bowl. The bypass circuit centrifuge is designed so as to be assembled within a cover assembly and a pair of oppositely disposed tangential flow nozzles in the base plate are used to spin the centrifuge within the cover so as to cause particles to separate out from the liquid. The interior of the centrifuge bowl includes a plurality of truncated cones which are arranged into a stacked array and are closely spaced so as to enhance the separation efficiency. The incoming liquid flow exits the centertube through a pair of oil inlets and from there is directed into the stacked array of cones. In one embodiment, a top plate in conjunction with ribs on the inside surface of the centrifuge bowl accelerate and direct this flow into the upper portion of the stacked array. In another embodiment the stacked array is arranged as part of a disposable subassembly. In each embodiment, as the flow passes through the channels created between adjacent cones, particle separation occurs as the liquid continues to flow downwardly to the tangential flow nozzles.

    摘要: A pressure side integrated air filter assembly for a turbocharged engine includes an air filter carrier which is designed and arranged to receive an air filter element and which is adapted to mount to the intake manifold of the turbocharged engine. The air filter carrier which receives an air filtering element is disposed within the intake manifold and the intake manifold cover serves as the air filter cover. A peripheral flange on the air filter carrier is used to support the air filter assembly by being clamped between the intake manifold cover and the intake manifold. This peripheral flange substitutes for the intake manifold gasket. The air filter carrier and the air filter element each have a trapezoidal shape in cross section as a way to conserve space within the intake manifold. The air filter element is a single panel of filtering media which is fan-folded with a first series of folds disposed adjacent the intake manifold cover and an alternating second series of folds disposed at the outlet side of the air filter carrier. The integrated air filter assembly is mounted within the intake manifold and may be used as a security filter with a cannister filter positioned upstream from the turbocharger or with a precleaner air filter disposed upstream from the turbocharger.
