Abstract: A stent is provided which can be crimped to a reduced profile with reduced stress in the stent, while maintaining the strength and flexibility of the stent so that it can be advanced through the narrow passageways present in a patient's body and then expanded to dilate and/or circumferentially support the vessel wall. Also provided is a method of deploying such a stent.

Abstract: A stent deployment device (110) is provided for deploying a stent in a lumen of a patient. The device can include a catheter (112), a first balloon (122) positioned near a distal end of the catheter and a second balloon (123) adjacent to the first balloon. Alternatively, the second balloon can be positioned over the first balloon. The device also includes an expandable stent (210) positioned over the first balloon and the second balloon. The first balloon comprises a semi-compliant material, a noncompliant material or a compliant material. Similarly, the second balloon comprises a semi-compliant material, a noncompliant material or a compliant material. The first balloon is expandable to a first diameter, while the second balloon can be expandable to a second diameter.

Abstract: A self centering delivery catheter is provided for delivering a filter into a vessel in a centered manner which aids in the retrieval of the filter. The delivery catheter generally includes an outer sheath and a cannula disposed inside the outer sheath and axially translatable relative thereto. A set of centering legs are attached to the cannula. The centering legs are operable between a first retracted position and a second extended position, the centering legs moving radially away from the cannula as the centering legs move from the retracted position to the extended position. The relative position of the outer sheath and cannula control the operation of the centering legs. A control wire is disposed inside the cannula and is axially translatable relative thereto. Axial translation of the control wire operates a release mechanism to disengage the filter for delivering the filter into the vessel.

Abstract: A stent graft system for intraluminal deployment in an aorta and a branch vessel that includes an aorta stent graft for deployment within the aorta and defining a lumen for the passage of blood therethrough, and having a fenestration positioned and sized so as to allow blood to flow to a contiguous branch vessel. The system also includes a branch vessel prosthesis, preferably a stent graft, having a tubular portion and a flaring portion, such that, when deployed, the flaring portion is located within the lumen of the aorta stent graft and the tubular portion passes through the fenestration and into the branch vessel. A balloon expansion catheter expands the tubular portion and flare the flaring portion. The expansion of the tubular portion and the flaring of the flaring portion may occur sequentially or simultaneously.

Abstract: An endoluminal vascular repair system includes an aorta stent graft having a fenestration with a first reinforcement around the fenestration. The fenestration aligns with a branch vessel when deployed. A branch vessel stent graft has a flaring portion at a proximal end of the branch vessel prosthesis that has a second reinforcement around its circumference to engage the reinforcement around the fenestration, and a tubular portion. When deployed, the flaring portion retains the proximal end within the aorta stent graft, and the tubular portion extends through the fenestration and into the branch vessel.

Abstract: A stent graft system for intraluminal deployment in an aorta and a branch vessel includes an aorta stent graft for deployment within an aorta and defining a lumen for the passage of blood therethrough, and having a fenestration aligned so as to allow blood to flow to a contiguous branch vessel. A branch vessel prosthesis having a flaring portion, a tubular portion and an anchoring device, are configured so that, upon deployment, the tubular portion passes through the fenestration and into the branch vessel, the anchoring device affixes the position of the tubular portion within the branch vessel, and the flaring portion is retained within the lumen of the aorta stent graft and is maintained against an inside wall of the aorta stent graft to thereby bias the aorta stent graft toward the branch vessel.
