摘要: The present invention describes a self-responding laminated body in which an isotropic solution, wherein a polysaccharide derivative, dissolved in water, aggregates to demonstrate cloudy scattering due to a rise in temperature resulting in a decrease in optical transmittance, is sealed in a cell, of which at least a portion is transparent, that enables the aqueous solution to be viewed directly; wherein, the isotropic aqueous solution is a solution in which 100 parts by weight of a polysaccharide derivative, having a weight average molecular weight of roughly 10,000 to roughly 200,000, is dissolved in roughly 110 to roughly 2,000 parts by weight of a water-based medium composed of an amount of water that is roughly 25 to roughly 450 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the polysaccharide derivative, and an amphipathic substance. This laminated body can be produced by sealing the isotropic aqueous solution in a cell having at least one transparent portion that enables the aqueous solution to be viewed directly, and can be advantageously used as a window.

摘要: A developer for electrostatic electrophotography which comprises a composition of colorant particles, an electric charge supplying agent and a resin binder dispersed in a dispersion medium. The resin binder is a copolymer which has a polyoxyethylene units at side chains thereof, so that the interaction with the electric charge supplying agent is improved. The resultant developer ensures good resolution, gradation and fixing property and is suitable for wet development to give high-quality images. When the copolymer used as the resin binder has styrene units therein, its solubility in the dispersion medium is improved. The developer is either liquid or solid depending on the type of dispersion medium.

摘要: In an elevator, for controlling the upward and downward movement of a cage, a shoe is brought into and out of pressing contact with a drum or a disk of a brake by a combination of a spring and a hydraulic cylinder. The optimum braking force is determined in accordance with the inertial mass and the speed of the cage to be braked, and the fluid pressure is controlled to control the force of pressing of the shoe against the drum or the disk, so that the brake can always produce the optimum braking force. A controller for controlling the pressure of the hydraulic cylinder is operated by an emergency power source. The brake can be controlled with a high responsibility and its braking force can be controlled arbitrarily, and even in the event of a power failure, the brake can be operated by the emergency power source of a small-capacity. Therefore, in the normal condition, the cage can be held accurately in its stop position, and in the event of an emergency, the optimum braking force is produced in accordance with the load and the speed of the cage, and the shortest braking distance can be achieved with a small braking impact.

摘要: A roof structure for a vehicular sun-roof device is provided including a roof panel having an upper and lower face and an opening therein. A downwardly bent extension projects downward from the roof panel. A stiffener is mounted between the downwardly bent extension and the lower face of the roof panel. A marginal opening edge is formed by the downwardly bent extension and the stiffener and includes a lower end. A sun-roof frame is operatively positioned and affixed adjacent to and spaced from the marginal opening edge. A seal is provided attached to the lower end of the marginal opening edge for abutting against the sun-roof frame to close the space between the marginal opening edge and the sun-roof frame. The roof structure reduces the space necessary to support a sun-roof device thereby increasing the area of the opening in the roof panel.

摘要: A method for determination of hydrogen peroxide by chemiluminescence analysis which consists of reacting a sample containing hydrogen peroxide with an oxidizable non-fluorescent substance in the presence of an oxidizing catalyst to convert the non-fluorescent substance to a fluorescent substance, reacting the fluorescent substance with an oxalic acid di-ester and hydrogen peroxide in the presence of an inhibitor which inactivates the oxidizing catalyst, and then measuring the amount of light emission produced to determine the amount of hydrogen peroxide contained in the sample. Determination and enzyme immunoassay for a component other than hydrogen peroxide in a sample from living body and evaluation of bactericidal activity in phagocytosis of leukocytes by utilizing this method are also disclosed.

摘要: An engine comprising a fuel injector, an oxygen concentration detector and an electronic control unit. In the electronic control unit, a basic fuel injection time period is calculated, and a correction valve of the basic fuel injection time period is calculated on the basis of the output signal of the oxygen concentration detector. The electronic control unit comprises a back-up RAM storing the mean value of the correction value therein, and an output outputting a voltage which corresponds to the correction value. A connector device is provided, which comprises a connector body and a cap removably fitted onto the connector body. The connector body comprises a output terminal connected to the output of the electronic control unit, a power input terminal connected to the back-up RAM, and a power supply terminal connected to a battery. The cap has a U-shaped connecting terminal which comes into contact with the power input terminal and the power supply terminal for applying an electric power to the back-up RAM when the cap is fitted onto the connector body.
