Abstract:
A device which allows an individual to play poker with other, remotely located individuals over a network, the device comprising two screens and a game console. A top screen on the device is positioned over a bottom screen and is adapted to slide or fold open to allow viewing of the bottom screen. The device includes memory and software installed on the device in order to allow game play. The software can enable the display of avatars which exhibit alternative facial or other features that display emotion and that are selected by a user. Also included is a system which enables remotely located individual users of the gaming device to engage in gaming together.
Abstract:
Network apparatuses, networks, computer program products, and management station operational methods are provided. One aspect of the invention provides a network apparatus including a management station adapted to couple with a network including a plurality of managed devices, the management station being configured to output a plurality of initial commands for application to respective managed devices, the initial commands being configured to stimulate initial responses from the managed devices, the management station being further configured to receive the initial responses, to identify responding ones of the managed devices responsive to the received initial responses, and to provide an asset table containing the identified managed devices. Another aspect provides a management station operational method including providing a network comprising a plurality of managed devices; outputting a plurality of initial commands to the managed devices using a management station to stimulate initial responses from the managed devices; receiving the initial responses from the managed devices using the management station; and identifying the managed devices using the management station responsive to the receiving the initial responses.
Abstract:
The invention provides a family of nucleotide analogs useful in sequencing nucleic acids containing a homopolymer region comprising, for example, two or more base repeats, and to sequencing methods using such nucleotide analogs.
Abstract:
A universal power converter comprises a body and a circuit module. The circuit module includes a power converter circuit; the power converter circuit being a power supply and charging circuit of a power supply; and a voltage adjusting circuit; the voltage adjusting circuit including a main controller; the main controller being installed with a plurality of output ports; each output port being serially connected to a respective transistor and a specific resistor value; each resistor value representing a specific output voltage which is feedback to the power converter circuit; the main controller serving for automatically opening or closing a selected voltage and for driving the signals from the data display screen and the actuating switch.

Abstract:
A novel palladium-mediated carbon-carbon bond forming reaction has been discovered using DNA-templated chemistry. The inventive reaction involves the palladium-mediated coupling of a terminal alkyne with an alkene to form an enone. A catalytic amount of palladium may be used in the reaction if an oxidant is present. The reactions is also compatible with a variety of organic solvent as well as aqueous solution. Both intermolecular and intramolecular reactions have been demonstrated. This novel carbon-carbon bond forming reaction is particularly useful in the synthesis of macrocycles. Kits, reagents, catalysts, solvents, oxidants, salts, acids, instructions, and other materials useful in the practice of the inventive reaction are also provided.
Abstract:
The invention provides methods and compositions for in vivo incorporation of unnatural amino acids. Also provided are compositions including proteins with unnatural amino acids.
Abstract:
Nature evolves biological molecules such as proteins through iterated rounds of diversification, selection, and amplification. The present invention provides methods, compositions, and systems for synthesizing, selecting, amplifying, and evolving non-natural molecules based on nucleic acid templates. The sequence of a nucleic acid template is used to direct the synthesis of non-natural molecules such as unnatural polymers and small molecules. Using this method combinatorial libraries of these molecules can be prepared and screened. Upon selection of a molecule, its encoding nucleic acid template may be amplified and/or evolved to yield the same molecule or related molecules for re-screening. The inventive methods and compositions of the present invention allow for the amplification and evolution of non-natural molecules in a manner analogous to the amplification of natural biopolymer such as polynucleotides and protein.
