摘要: The present invention relates to a method of synthesizing trioxymethylene from formaldehyde by the catalytic action of an acidic ionic liquid. In the method, formaldehyde solution with a concentration of 30˜80 wt % is used as reactant, and an ionic liquid is used as catalyst. The cation moiety of the catalyst is selected from either imidazoles cation or pyridines cation, and the anion moiety of the catalyst is selected from one of p-tolyl benzene sulfonate, trifluoromethyl sulfonate, and hydrogen sulfate. In the present invention, ionic liquid is used, for the first time, as a catalyst to synthesize trioxymethylene from formaldehyde. The catalyst can be circularly used for continuous sampling.

摘要: Streaming media applications, e.g., sent over the Internet with TCP, can suffer from various fluctuations and low utilization due to TCP's Additive Increase Multiplicative Decrease (AIMD) congestion control mechanism. Improved methods and apparatuses are provided in which Logarithm-based Rate Control algorithms are employed to better utilize available bandwidth and/or control and smooth the sending rate of the streaming media.

摘要: A system and method is provided for simulating a wellness promoting, DC variable electric field in an environment. A DC power source (DC input) and converter provide a DC output and generate an electric field in between positive and negative electrodes in an environment. An electric field detector measures and transmits information (data) about the strength of the actual electric field in the environment. A microprocessor receives the data and compares the information to the parameters of a wellness promoting electric field in order to direct the function of a pulse width modulator to modulate the DC output and thereby the DC variable electric field in real-time. The wellness of a subject in the environment of the DC variable electric field is enhanced by ensuring the positive electrode is proximal to a positive part of the subject and the negative electrode is proximal to a negative part of the subject.

摘要: A subsea system for installing, suspending and removing underwater equipment below the surface of the sea is provided. The subsea system includes a landing base module for landing and positioning underwater equipment thereupon, the landing base module comprising a base member and a first buoyancy system; and a second buoyancy system for affixing to the underwater equipment, the second buoyancy system having sufficient buoyancy to float the underwater equipment toward the surface of the sea when detached from the landing base module, wherein the underwater equipment includes a ballast system structured and arranged to permit the underwater equipment to be lowered onto the landing base module. A method for installing, suspending and removing underwater equipment below the surface of the sea and a kit of parts are also provided.

摘要: A manually operated switch assembly is disclosed. The switch assembly includes a housing, a switch mechanism, and an actuator assembly. The switch mechanism is housed within the housing and is configured to open or close a circuit upon actuation. The actuator assembly is shiftably supported by the housing and generally includes a depressible actuator and a stability element. The actuator presents an actuator length and serves to actuate the switch mechanism when depressed. The stability element is configured to ensure that the actuator moves substantially uniformly along the actuator length when the actuator is depressed such that actuation of the switch mechanism is facilitated regardless of where the actuator is depressed along the actuator length. The switch assembly may be waterproofed, and be formed, at least in part, by a curable liquid sealant supplied to the switch assembly from a single fluid source.
