摘要： The invention provides a method to improve the efficacy of an antibiotic to inhibit the growth of Acinetobacter, said method comprising using said antibiotic together with an alginate oligomer. The Acinetobacter may be on an animate or inanimate surface and both medical and non-medical uses and methods are provided. In one aspect the invention provides an alginate oligomer for use together with at least one antibiotic in treating a subject infected, suspected to be infected, or at risk of infection, with Acinetobacter. In another aspect the method can be used to combat Acinetobacter contamination of a site e.g., for disinfection and cleaning purposes.

摘要： The invention is an Intelligent Conveyor Adjustment System (ICAS). The ICAS gives the user a way to adjust guide rails and other devices used in a conveyor system with actuators that can receive instructions based on a specific communications interface, such an interface may consist of but is not limited to serial wired network, an 802.11 compatible network, a power line network, and as described in the examples a wireless network, in a fashion to position rails or other devices on a conveyor system or in machines associated with a conveyor system. The actuators can be but are not limited to varying types, linear, rotary, push/pull covered cable, flexible strips, lever, pivoting, scissor, or other dual actuating mechanisms. The ACMs are used to control the actuators which control the relative position and shape of guide rails on the sides of the conveyor as well as position of various other conveyor entities such as, but not limited to, timing screws, labelers, marking machines, barcode readers, and fillers.

Parasitic capacitance associated with bootstrap circuitry is reduced, thereby decreasing signal distortion caused by capacitive loading at the input of the sampling circuit. The impedance of a sampling semiconductor switch is maintained substantially constant during sample states, at least in part, by accounting for non-linear parasitic capacitances associated with a sampling switch control terminal in order to reduce or minimize signal distortion associated with sampled signals that pass through the sampling switch.

摘要： A burr guide assembly for guiding a burr tool during a procedure in which the burr tool is used to cut a bone. The burr guide assembly comprises a housing which can be fastened to the bone and a guide sleeve which is pivotally mounted in the housing. The guide sleeve has a bore extending along its length in which a burr tool can be received such that the cutting portion of the burr tool extends from the sleeve towards the bone which is to be cut. The bore is located eccentrically within the guide sleeve. Further, the sleeve is mounted in the housing for pivotal movement around an axis so that the cutting portion of the burr tool is restricted to movement in a plane which is perpendicular to that axis. The assembly also includes a burr tool which is a sliding fit in the guide sleeve.
