    摘要: A toroidal type continuously variable transmission has input and output side disks arranged concentrically with a first axis, a power roller, a trunnion swung around a second axis, the trunnion including a main body portion, bent wall portions, pivot shafts and an oval hole, an outer ring contained in a pocket portion provided on the trunnion and a bearing for movably supporting the outer ring in the direction perpendicular to the second axis provided between the rain body portion and the outer ring. The outer ring includes a first shaft portion for rotatably supporting the power roller and a second shaft portion arranged concentrically with the first shaft portion and movably supported by the oval hole along a direction perpendicular to the second axis. Tangential forces generated between the power roller, the input and output side disks are supported on the second shaft portion and the trunnion.

    摘要: The outlet duct extending outward from the air cleaner case is also extended inward into the air cleaner case with the same inner diameter such that the length of the part extending into the air cleaner is 10% to 25% of the axial length of the air cleaner element. By this, the distance from the opening of the outlet duct in the air cleaner case to the air flow sensor located in a downstream zone can be increased in an automobile engine, turbulence in the intake air flow can be considerably weakened at the air flow sensor, and air flow measurement not fluctuating widely can be obtained with an air flow measuring device having the same calibration program even when an air cleaner element of different type, i.e. of single type or double type, is used in an air cleaner case of the same design.

Here, when, among metal flows existing in the disk, a metal flow, which has such a positional relationship with respect to the surface of the disk that an angle .theta. formed between a metal flow on the traction surface side and the tangent of the traction surface is smaller than or equal to 30 degrees, is defined as a "metal flow along the disk surface", the disk is structured such that the "metal flow along the disk surface" exists at least in the traction surface.

Preferably, the entire circumference of the pitch circle of the balls of each thrust ball bearing overlaps with a load-absorbing region, which is one or more annular and/or arcuate regions having the same width as the needles of needle bearings radially arranged in said regions in order to absorb thrust load.
