    Abstract: An access point station (AP) generates a trigger frame (TF) for transmission to two or more non-AP stations (STAs) or groups of STAs. The trigger frame may allocate resource units (RUs) for a trigger-based (TB) transmission to the two or more STAs. The AP may encode the trigger frame to include a Common Info field followed by one or more Special User Info fields. The Common Info field and the one or more Special User Info fields and may be encoded to solicit (i.e., trigger) a trigger-based (TB) Frequency Aggregated Physical layer Protocol Data Unit (PPDU) (FA-PPDU) that includes more than one PPDU of at least two different physical layer (PHY) types from the two or more STAs or groups of STAs. The different PHY types may include high-efficiency (HE), Extremely High Throughput (EHT), Ultra-High Rate (UHR), and UHR+. Accordingly, an AP can trigger a FA-PPDU that includes TB PPDUs of different PHY types.

    Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for tone plans and preambles for extremely high throughput (EHT) in a wireless network are disclosed. An apparatus of an EHT access point (AP) or EHT station (STA), where the apparatus includes processing circuitry configured to: encode a physical layer (PHY) protocol data unit (PPDU), the PPDU including a EHT preamble, the EHT preamble including a legacy preamble portion and a EHT preamble portion, the legacy preamble including a legacy short training field (L-SFT), a legacy long-training field (L-LTF), and a legacy signal field (L-SIG), the EHT preamble portion comprising an EHT short signal field (EHT S-SIG), the EHT S-SIG including a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) subfield indicating a MCS of a subsequent data portion. The PPDU may be transmitted on a distributed or contiguous resource unit (RU) allocation. The RU may be configured to not straddle two physical 20 MHz subchannels.

An apparatus of an access point (AP) comprising processing circuitry configured to encode an EHT capabilities element, the EHT capabilities element comprising a maximum media access control (MAC) protocol data unit (MPDU) in an aggregated MPDU (A-MPDU) length exponent subfield. The processing circuitry further configured to configure the AP to transmit the EHT capabilities element to a station (STA), and determine a maximum A-MPDU length based on two raised to a power of a constant plus a value of the A-MPDU length exponent subfield. The processing circuitry further configured to encode MPDUs in an A-MPDU, where the A-MPDU is encoded to be less than or equal to the maximum A-MPDU length.
