    摘要: An objective lens driving apparatus includes a lens holder 1 that holds an objective lens 2, and a stationary base 9 that supports the lens holder 1 by a support shaft 3 parallel to an optical axis of the objective lens 2. A stationary yoke 11 and the magnet 8 are mounted to the stationary base 9. A focusing coil 4 and the tracking coils 5a and 5b are mounted to the lens holder 1. The interaction between the current in the focusing coil 4 and the magnetic field caused by the magnet 8 generates an electromagnetic force that moves the lens holder 1 along the support shaft 3. The interaction between the current in the tracking coils 5a and 5b and the magnetic field caused by the magnet 8 generates an electromagnetic force that rotates the lens holder 1 about the support shaft 3.

    摘要: An optical fiber amplifier surge protective apparatus includes an optical branch unit, an optical delay circuit, a light input hit detecting circuit, a compensation optical signal generating circuit, and an optical multiplexer. The optical branch unit branches an optical signal input from an optical fiber line into a main optical signal on a main optical path and a branch optical signal on a branch optical path. The optical delay circuit delays the main optical signal on the main optical path. The light input hit detecting circuit monitors the level of the branch optical signal on the branch optical path to detect an optical fiber line hit. The compensation optical signal generating circuit generates a compensation optical signal having a wavelength different from that of the optical signal input when the light input hit detecting circuit detects the optical fiber line hit. The optical multiplexer multiplexes the compensation optical signal from the compensation optical signal generating circuit and the delayed main optical signal from the optical delay circuit.

    摘要: Magneto-optical disk recording and reproducing devices and actuators and distance detectors for use therewith are disclosed. The mageneto-optical disk device comprises, in addition to the usual elements, a bimorph type actuator or an electromagnetic actuator for driving the magnetic head of the magneto-optical disk device. The bimorph actuator has a metallic shim whose width varies with respect to the longitudinal distance inversely porportional to the normal function of the first or the second free natural vibration mode. Alternatively, the bimorph type actuator have a recess formed on a bimorph element to expose a piezoelectric crystal which outputs a voltage corresponding to the acceleration of the vibration of the actuator; the driver circuit of the actuator reduces the driving voltage when the frequency of the voltage generated at the recess comes into the neighborhood of a higher resonance frequency of the actuator. The optical distance detector comprises a light-emitting diode and a pair of photodiodes which detects the amount of light incident thereon after being reflected at a surface of an object the distance to which is measured. The geometric parameters of the photodiodes are selected in such a manner that the output of a first photodiode decreases as the measured distance increases while the output of a second photodiode increases as the measured distance increases. Thus, the normalized differential output of the two photodiodes, from which the measured distance is determined, varies substantially linearly with respect to the measured distance. In preferred forms, the photodetectors have stepped concentric configurations so that small distances can be measured accurately and efficiently.

    摘要: In a device of the type of an Inchworm Translator as called by Burleigh Instruments, Inc., N.Y., an electromechanical driver for a shaft of the device comprises a plurality of electrostrictive layers stacked longitudinally of the driver with internal electrodes interposed. Preferably, each gripper or clamper for the shaft is of a like structure and comprises a pair of external electrodes on an outer peripheral surface thereof. More preferably, the gripper comprises either an electrically insulating and abrasion resistive or an electrically insulating and vibration damping film which defines a cylindrical inner peripheral surface of the gripper. The film is preferably divided into a plurality of film portions. The electrostrictive layers are preferably of a composition of a formula of (1-x)Pb(Mg.sub.1/3 Nb.sub.2/3)O.sub.3.xPbTiO.sub.3 where x is about 0.35. The electrically insulating and abrasion resistive film may be of either a plastic or a ceramic material. The electrically insulating and vibration damping film may be of a ferrite composition having a logarithmic damping factor between 0.04 and 0.06.

    摘要: Arranged in the bottom of a cup-shaped cylindrical casing is a solid disc form of axially uniformly magnetized permanent magnet having a single pair of poles each formed on one or the other of its opposite end faces over the whole region thereof. A circular plate of magnetically permeable material is fixedly mounted on the magnet and to which plate a set of coiled posts are fixedly fitted. The casing is preferably formed on its outer periphery with cooling fins for dissipation of heat generated therein during printing operation. The magnet and the plate thereon, identical in outer diameter, are radially spaced an appropriate slight distance from the inner wall surface of the casing to form a bypass circuit for the flux of the magnet. Arranged in the open top of the casing is a spring-charge type print hammer assembly which includes a radial array of resilient tongues (hammers) and print wires secured thereto preferably through the medium of flat armature plates fixed to the respective tongues. The print head is particularly suited for high-speed printing operation with low power requirements and, owing primarily to the extremely simplified form of magnet used, is of reduced fabrication cost. The armature plates, in cooperation with a yoke plate slotted to receive the plates serve to compensate for any possible increase in reluctance of the main magnetic circuit and increase the kinetic energy of the tongues or print hammers when released.
