摘要： Provided are a Vestigial Side Band (VSB) Digital Television (DTV) transmitter and receiver based on the Advanced Television System Committee (ATSC) A/53, and a method thereof. The present invention provides 8-VSB DTV transmitter and receiver that can improve reception performance of the receiver by transmitting and receiving robust data mixed with P-2VSB, E-4VSB, and/or E-8VSB. The DTV transmitter includes an input means for receiving a digital video data stream including normal data and robust data; an encoding means for coding the digital video data stream into data symbols; and a transmitting means for modulating and transmitting an output signal of the encoding means, wherein the encoding means performs trellis coding on the robust data by sequentially applying a plurality of trellis coding methods.

摘要： Disclosed is a system for transmitting encrypted broadcast signals to different transmitters on a single frequency network (SFN) in a digital broadcasting system. The system for transmitting encrypted broadcast signals on the SFN includes: a main broadcasting system for transmitting encrypted broadcast signals including data streams and transmitter identification information (TII) through a main broadcasting network; a repeating system for amplifying encrypted broadcast signals of the main broadcasting network and transmitting the amplified broadcast signals, or modulating and amplifying streams input by the main broadcasting system through a private line and repeating broadcast signals of the main broadcasting system through a repeating network; and a decrypting key provider for receiving a decrypting key value from the main broadcasting or repeating system and transmitting a user authentication and decrypting key to a charged subscriber terminal through a mobile communication network.

摘要： Provided is an IP data transmission apparatus using a legacy transmission system and a broadband downstream transmission system in a HFC network. The IP data transmission apparatus includes: an headend unit for receiving data from an application server system that is a service providing apparatus, splitting the received data into general user data and management message, determining whether the general user is transmitted using a broadband or an existing service band, and transmitting the general user data through the HFC network; and a user cable terminal unit for receiving the split data transmitted from the headend unit through the HFC network, transmitting the received data to an IP based user device, and transferring the management message to the IP based user device through the legacy transmission system.

The apparatus includes: a transmission packet processing unit for receiving a frame from a speech codec, forming a Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) payload in a form of multiple frames and transmitting the RTP payload to an RTP stack; and a reception packet processing unit for receiving an RTP packet from the RTP stack, storing the RTP packet in a jitter buffer, performing dejittering, separating frames from the RTP payload one by one and transmitting the frames to the speech codec.

The method includes the steps of: selecting a desired pay event using a program guide displayed on a system of the subscriber and achieving a subscriber private key; filling out a service application based on service information, signing the service application based on a digital signature scheme and encrypting the digital signed service application; transmitting the encrypted service application to a broadcasting station and waiting a response of the broadcasting station; receiving a session key and a subscription authority message from the broadcasting station, decrypting the session key and the subscription authority message and verifying the digital signature; decrypting a channel key, achieving a control word, descrambling event audio/video streams and watching the event; and if the event is terminated or the session key is not effective, stopping watching the event and deleting the session key.

摘要： Provided is a Vestigial Side Band Digital Television (DTV) transmitter/receiver based on Advanced Television System Committee A/53. The invention provides DTV transmitter/receiver having a dual stream structure through generation of robust data which has a transmission rate a fourth as fast as that of normal data, and a method thereof. The DTV transmitter includes: input means for receiving digital video data stream including normal and robust data; encoding means for performing ¼ rate coding on the digital video data stream so that one bit can be transmitted through two symbols; and transmitting means for modulating/transmitting output signals of the encoding means. This invention can reduce SNR and satisfy TOV of robust data by performing additional FEC on robust data, transmitting/receiving ¼ rate coded robust data, which are capable of transmitting one-bit data for two symbols, and improving decoding ability of an equalizer and a trellis decoder of a DTV receiver.

The apparatus includes: a VoIP signal processing unit for digitizing a voice of a speaker to create a voice packet, detecting a mute section to suppress packet generation, and generating an Service identification (SID) packet in the mute section; a storage unit for storing the voice packet and the SID packet created by the VoIP signal processing unit and notifying information on the stored packets; a VoIP activity determining unit for determining a voice activity based on the information on the stored packets notified from the storage unit; and a packet processing unit for including the voice activity transferred from the VoIP activity determining unit in the packets from the storage unit to encapsulate them and transmit it to a network device.
