摘要: A transmission method uses multiple kinds of control codes to be exchanged on a serial transmission path between a sender side and a receiver side, and each of the multiple kinds of control codes has bits smaller in number than a predetermined fixed length. The transmission method includes the steps of inspecting the received bit string in groups of bits of the number of the control code, and thereby determining whether one of the multiple kinds of control codes is present in the serial signal received on the serial transmission path or not, selecting the control code to be sent based on a result of the determination in the determining step, sending, onto the serial transmission path, a bit string containing at least the control code to be sent based on the result of the determination in the determining step, and receiving the data code by inspecting the received bit string in groups of bits of the fixed length in response to the detection of the control code indicating the start of transmission of the data from the opposite side in the determining step.

摘要: A laser beam incident on a rod lens has a greater cross-sectional diameter than that of a rod lens main body, and mirrors are provided near the rod lens main body to reflect incident light toward the same. Since light of a strong beam intensity reflected onto the rod lens main body by the mirrors produces a greater angle than light of weak beam intensity, this configuration has an effect of increasing the light intensity on the ends of a resulting line beam and, thus, expands the spreading angle of visible light in the line beam.

摘要: Conventional batteries have a problem that, in case the battery temperature should rise to 100° C. or higher due to an internal short-circuit, etc., a large short-circuit current develops to generate heat. It follows that the battery temperature further increases, which can result in a further increase of the short-circuit current. Further, some of electrode structures involve reduction in discharge capacity. These problems are solved by a battery in which an electron conductive material (9), being in contact with an active material (8) in an electrode, comprises a conductive filler and a resin so that the electrode may increase its resistivity with a temperature rise, and the ratio of the particle size of the electron conductive material (9) to that of the active material (8) is in a range of from 0.1 to 20.

摘要: An integrated modulator and semiconductor laser device includes a semiconductor substrate; an optical waveguide including an active layer having a width and a cladding layer, and disposed on the semiconductor substrate, the optical waveguide including a laser part and a modulator part modulating the intensity of laser light; a semi-insulating semiconductor layer disposed on opposite sides of the optical waveguide; a low-resistance contact layer for making an ohmic contact with an electrode material, disposed on the optical waveguide, being absent between the laser part and the modulator part, and having a width equivalent to the width of the active layer. Since the contact layer with a stripe structure having a width equivalent to that of the active layer is used in making ohmic contact to the electrode material, the cladding layer of the second conductivity type below the contact layer is narrowed as well, and the isolation between the laser and the modulator is also improved with good controllability without narrowing by etching. The flow of current between the contact layer of the laser part and the contact layer of the modulator part is reduced. As a result, the isolation between the laser part and the modulator part is improved by one order of magnitude over the prior art semiconductor laser device.

摘要: A phosphor screen is formed on an inner surface of a faceplate and has a plurality of regions which are dividedly scanned by electron beams emitted from a plurality of electron guns. Support units are arranged between the faceplate and a rear plate of an envelope so as to support the faceplate and rear plate under atmospheric pressure. Each of the support units includes a plurality of support members, each having one end abutting against the faceplate and the other end abutting against the rear plate, and a plurality of connecting members each connecting a predetermined number of support members and fixed to the faceplate.
