摘要: An inexpensive optical recording medium is provided that can ensure recording and reproduction of data even in case of using blue or blue-violet laser light as irradiation light and can be stored for a long time. The optical recording medium includes a recording layer. The recording layer includes a recording portion and a covering portion covering at least one side of the recording portion in a thickness direction of the recording portion. The recording portion and the covering portion are substantially formed from a plurality of types of common constituent elements. Composition ratios of the constituent elements are different between the recording portion and the covering portion.

摘要: There is provided a mold component which makes it possible to mold a substrate for an optical recording medium which enables a functional layer having a uniform thickness to be formed thereon without using a resin-coating assisting member. A stamper holder holds a stamper thereon, and has a generally hollow cylindrical shape. An insertion hole formed through a central portion of the stamper has a diameter which is larger than an outer diameter of a cavity-side end of the stamper holder at a higher temperature of the holder than a normal temperature, and is slightly smaller than the outer diameter at the normal temperature of the holder. The cavity-side end inserted into the insertion hole at the higher temperature of the stamper is grasped by a rim of the insertion hole which is reduced in diameter at the normal temperature of the stamper.

摘要: An optical recording medium includes a support substrate 11, and a light transmission layer 12 that is disposed so as to come in contact with the support substrate 11. At least one of a refractive index of the support substrate 11 and a refractive index of the light transmission layer 12, and an extinction coefficient of the support substrate 11 and an extinction coefficient of the light transmission layer 12 is different. As such, according to the invention, a reflective layer is not formed between the support substrate 11 and the light transmission layer 12, such that the support substrate 11 and the light transmission layer 12 directly come in contact with each other. Accordingly, since at least one of the refractive index and the extinction coefficient is different, reflection occurs at the interface between the support substrate 11 and the light transmission layer 12. Therefore, data held by a plurality of pits 11a, that are arranged on the support substrate 11 in a spiral shape or a concentric shape, can be correctly read out.

摘要: An optical recording medium according to the invention has a disc body 11 in which a label side 11b can be viewed from a light incident side 11a, a printing layer 12 that is provided on the label side 11b of the disc body 11, and an ink receiving layer that is provided on the printing layer 12. Accordingly, the printed content of the printing layer 12 can be viewed from the light incident side 11a and a user can print a desired design on the ink receiving layer 13. Therefore, the design flexibility can be enhanced and a possibility of erroneous handling of the optical recording medium by the user can be drastically reduced. In addition, the optical recording medium by manufacturer or brand can be visually discriminated.
