    摘要: A wireless base station that has a plurality of antennas and repeatedly executes a cycle where reception and transmission are performed to communicate with a plurality of mobile stations at a same time using an adaptive array method. During reception in a cycle, the wireless base station calculates first weight vectors for forming directivity patterns and uses the first weight vectors during transmission to form the same directivity patterns as during reception in a same cycle. When a reception error occurs during reception of a signal from an arbitrary mobile station, the wireless base station calculates, from current response vectors of other mobile stations, a second weight vector that is used in place of the first weight vector when forming a directivity pattern for the arbitrary mobile station during transmission in a same cycle as the reception error. This directivity pattern has null directivity for the other mobile stations.

    摘要: An output parameter estimation apparatus for estimating an output parameter from an input data set that is composed of a plurality of input parameters and that is obtained whenever sampling time series input data. In this output parameter estimation apparatus, a fuzzy inference rule is used to calculate a fitness degree of the input data set in one of a plurality of fields included in a space that is formed using at least one input parameter. According to the calculated fitness degree, introduction routes through which the input data set is to be inputted into a neural network are selected. The neural network is set in a connection condition corresponding to the field to which the input data set belongs, the connection condition having been determined in advance as a result of learning process. With this connection condition, the neural network estimates the output parameter from the input data set inputted through the selected introduction routes.

    摘要: A second harmonic generation (SHG) device is used for conversion of wavelength. The direction of polarization of light beams is suitably rotated by a direction-of-polarization rotating unit, for example by 45.degree., and thereafter these light beams are guided into the SHG device. This can minimize attenuation of intensity of light beam due to conversion of wavelength. Hence, using this direction-of-polarization rotating unit in the apparatus for measuring the medium, the intensity of light being incident upon the photodetector can be increased, whereby the refractive index of the medium can be measured more accurately than by the conventional apparatus.
