Abstract:
Systems and methods displaying information from a mobile device are described herein. One embodiment of this disclosure provides method of triggering a wireless connection. The method comprises detecting a wired connection at a mobile device. The method further comprises adjusting a power to a wireless interface based on the detection of the wired connection.
Abstract:
Low-power transmitter and/or receiver devices are provided by sacrificing time and/or frequency diversity in exchange for lower power consumption. When channel conditions indicate that time and/or frequency spreading are unnecessary for transmissions, a transmitter may enter into a power-conservation mode in which transmissions are performed using a time gating scheme or a time repetition scheme. In the time gating scheme, symbols are transmitting just once, rather than a plurality of times, but with increased transmission power. In the time repetition scheme, copies of the same symbol are transmitted a plurality of times on the same frequency on different symbol transmission periods, instead of being retransmitted on different frequencies on different symbol transmission periods. Consequently, the symbol can be generated once and stored for subsequent retransmission, thereby allowing some of the transmitter/receiver chain components can be operated at a lower duty cycle or processing speed to conserve power.
Abstract:
A method, system and computer program product for a wireless mobile display digital interface (WMDDI) association procedure that allows establishing and joining more than one multicast group to facilitate the interoperability of multiple client devices based on host and client capabilities. The protocol provides for the exchange and update of capabilities and multicast addresses for layered multicast transmission applications. The system is used for interoperating devices with different capabilities and provides for efficient transmissions by using different multicast addresses mapped to different layers of a bitstream. The protocol adapts to changes in capabilities, in joining/releasing of multicast addresses and in link quality.
Abstract:
A computer system, method, article of manufacture, and system is provided comprising a processor, a first storage device with a primary operating system stored within and a second storage device with a secondary operating system stored within. The computer system contains BIOS capable of booting either the primary operating system or the secondary operating system responsive to user selection. The secondary operating system has fewer functions than the primary operating system and is capable of running the computer system independent of the primary operating system.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure propose computer-program products for discovery of source or sink devices and their capabilities, prior to establishing a link such as a tunneled direct link setup (TDLS) link. The established link may be used for different applications such as Wi-Fi Display session with the desired source or sink device. The proposed computer-program product may also be applied to devices that utilize peer to peer communication.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a machine-readable medium are provided for wireless communication in which at least two modems are selected from a set of modems for the wireless communication based on quality of service requirements for and an energy consumption of the wireless communication. In addition, the selected at least two modems are utilized concurrently for the wireless communication.
Abstract:
A tile concept allows independent encoding and decoding of regions of the video frames combined with changes in the way that the coded tiles are packetized and queued for transport. After the coded tile network abstraction layer (NAL) units are packetized into MPEG-TS frames, the more important tile data is put in the network abstraction layer at the head of the queue while the less important data is inserted later in the queue. Audio can also be accorded high priority. For a given link bandwidth/latency environment, the important data is transmitted first and the less important data can be discarded at the transmitter with less impact on the user perceived quality.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for avoiding conflict in a wireless mobile display digital interface (WMDDI) environment including both host and client devices. In one aspect, the presently claimed invention includes a system and/or method that is configured for broadcasting a first multicast MAC address by a first host to at least one first client in a predetermined geographic area and broadcasting the first multicast MAC address by a second host to at least one second client in the predetermined geographic area. The system and/or method can be further configured for determining a priority between the first host and the second host when the second host receives multicast packets transmitted by the first host and changing to a second multicast MAC address by a least priority host of the first host and the second host.
Abstract:
A method of facilitating communication in a wireless ad-hoc network comprises: generating, at a node in the wireless ad-hoc network, target availability information with regard to one or more transmission slots, the target availability information indicating whether the node is permitted to receive a transmission during each transmission slot; generating, at the node, owner availability information with regard to one or more transmission slots, the owner availability information indicating whether the node is permitted to transmit during each transmission slot; and broadcasting, from the node, the target availability information and the owner availability information to separately indicate availability as either an owner or a target for one or more transmission slots.
